BUILD MORE HOUSING!

He’s not in the top 50 of worst governors. He’s in the top 10 of great governors. Wes Moore record includes: ➕100,000 new jobs ⏬Record low unemployment 🚨 Crime in Baltimore at a 50 year low
Me@normalcyisok

@Dartagan_Llore Great, he is the third worst. He still sucks.

This is why people hate local media covering the Flyers only when they’re good. They start covering when the team is good, bitch about “gatekeeping,” then turn around and mock the fans who follow through thick and thin with this lazy troll job.

All the wheelin’ and dealin’ at the NHL trade deadline and the biggest “additions” might be the Flyers Tyson Foerster and Porter Martone. And Dan Vladar now 32 starts giving up 2 goals or less. Could be a late starting wagon headed to the playoffs!

@SportsRadioWIP I respectfully take exception with your media company now being in on the Flyers. You e ignored them for years and now that they're doing well you're jumping on. With all due respect, go back to talking about the Eagles and let us loyal fans have this one for ourselves

Super Win tonight in NJ. The #Flyers played a strong, resilient road game. Zegras, Foerster, Vladar are my 3 stars. Awesome start to road trip. That's one in the books. Detroit next on deck, Thursday! #LetsGoFlyers

Md has the 7th highest tax burden in the nation. We are top 10 in outward migration. Our reserve fund ranks 43rd out of 50 states. The “education blueprint” is an underperforming unfunded mandate. The tech tax is 90% short of projections. So...congrats all around in Annapolis!

@greta I went to Aruba a couple of years after that. Honestly I found it to be not very nice other than the little resort area. The rest I found suspect. That main area, Oranjestad I thought seemed a little sketchy.

This is where Joran van der Sloot played tennis with his buddy Guido (Guido also spent time with him in Thailand)- ask his mother: why did she hang up on me? Where is Guido’s car? What did Guido’s co workers about scratches on Guido the day after Natallee “missed” her flight home to Alabama?

In general, doctors are UNDER-paid for what they do. Surgeons should be making millions. It's the administrative costs and middlemen that make healthcare expensive, not physician pay.

Some, but it's more sophisticated. The two largest groups are El Salvadorans and Indians. Both groups are unique. When the powers that be say "Diversity id Our Strength", that's a load of nonsense. What they mean is "Assimilation Not Required". With that, here's my experience as a small businessman. The El Salvadorans are actually excellent customers and culturally westernized. Outside of language, they're the same as us as far as overall values and culture. They also pay well because they prefer to shop small. The Indians are more complicated. Not 3rd World but actually affluent and live among the wealthiest in our state. Culturally though they're complicated. About 70% are great and choose to assimilate, but about 30% do not. Among the latter, they can be challenging because their traditional culture is caste-based. Considering they're likely high caste people in their own country, they can be very tough on those they perceive as beneath them. I fall into that category. So, to give you an actual example, sometimes I'll get prospective customers from that group and they refuse to do business with me and walk out. Why? In their culture, they are superior to me and thus the custom is that they set the price and I am to graciously bow to them. If I refuse and stick to my prices, that is perceived as disrespect by them. It's often very disappointing because I need business but cannot do it at a loss. Some of these people do not believe that has any bearing on anything and the price they lowball with is them saying "you're a peasant". Now I reiterate this is a minority of them and not all. Unfortunately for people like me, I face two choices, neither of which are good but I choose the lesser of undesirables. One way is to gouge them so they undercut to a price you were actually charging. So, if it's normally $100, tell them $250 and let them haggle down. OK, you can do that. I choose not to because the powers that be aren't sophisticated to know this and eventually word will get out about it and I'll be labeled as bigoted. I don't need that in my life so I won't go there. The other way, which I choose, is just to say no. That keeps me out of trouble with the powers that be, but it doesn't gain a customer. And considering these people have money and influence, they will tell people close to them not to come here because I'm not respectful. I don't want that either but it's the lesser of two evils. Either way, this is what goes on with immigration that isn't properly managed. I can't do anything about it other than give up.

All true but there's another factor few seem to be willing to admit. The combination of government spending at all levels and devaluation of currency. The price spikes in housing and everything else seemed to exacerbate during the COVID era money printing binge. We need to get that money out of the system, but to do that requires a huge economic recession which few are willing to face.

Coming into this session, everyone said housing affordability was a top concern. So what do the Democrats do? They propose a bill that will raise rents and drive investors out of the market. Don't believe me? Over the last five years, Maryland has poured roughly $1.5 billion into "affordable housing" through capital investments, operating subsidies, tax credits, and rental assistance. And what's the result? Higher housing costs. When will they learn? Government isn't the solution. Government is the problem.

@seano21401 @chrispapst That's a point I've emphasized. I don't fault or demonize people for working in these companies, however there is trouble with economic parity outside of that sphere. Pure private sector employment outside of anything government related isn't competitive

🤷‍♂️ So? 🤷‍♂️
@CDCCellular @chrispapst MD is literally right next to Washington DC & we have 9 fed agency HQs in our state, as well as USNA & NSA. And the largest private sector jobs come from Fed gov’t contractors. Worth noting that about 24% of GDP is federal spending. Our proximity to DC helps us benefit from that.

Let me give you some verifiable numbers. The state and county governments are really grifting. Frederick County, where I am, has a County Executive who gave herself a raise, hired a chief of staff at $196K, a development director at $205K, a procurement person at $145K, some HR people for her diversity initiatives at over $100K. All stuff I FOIA'd, not made up numbers. Maryland is good if you're one of the connected types that can get in to these types of positions. But if you're a private sector person just working somewhere? It's way behind these salary figures. That's a fact.

@KellywoodCircus @Baltobabs1000 @chrispapst By what metric? Maybe if you're in government contracting or in one of these lucrative public sector positions, but if you're purely private sector, as I am, I can assure you it's not a great place to hang your hat at all.

Maryland should be ranked where you claim. It's all propped up by government spending. Huge federal and state employment numbers and contractors even more so. You want numbers? Frederick county just hired a crony for their economic development director position at $205K plus benefits none in the private sector could ever receive. Yet the median household income is half that. These numbers you're claiming are skewed because of this arbitrage. Private sector economics are far behind in Maryland
