Starting the year off with some news, everything has been finalized as my fiancé and I have officially purchased our first house. Will be leaving Raleigh after 12 years of being here and moving to Spruce Pine. Not far from the mountains where I grew up.

Here is a nice view of the Blue Ridge Mountains this morning in Asheville, too bad iit is from a hospital. Gonna go through emergency surgery to get my gallbladder removed. It is a standard procedure, but it has been a painful two days…

COVID finally hit our household. My double-vaccinated wife has been sick since Thursday, and tests came back positive. She's not doing well, having constant intense headaches. My sons were scheduled to finally get their first vaccine shot this week, but now we're all quarantined.

@mmark40 For sure there are players who can ruin ANY co-op game, just like there are players who can ruin any competitive game. But IMO most situations are a lot more gray, where game design can make a big difference in mitigating alpha player dynamics.

For the first time in my life, randomly sitting down at a game in the open play area at Gen Con, I have played a co-op game with a quarterbacker. I now know with confidence that it's a person problem and not a game system problem.

Getting Board Game (Playing, Playtesting, Designing) Fatigue. Board Game Twitter is getting a bit exhausting - emotionally. All this is Impairing my level of ambition/desire at the moment. Any one else going through this or is this common> just take a break and come back to it?
