@ToughSf The question is how much energy does it take to refine that uranium into something that can be used in a reactor

Were you taught this in school?

Communist regimes killed more people in the 20th century than both World Wars combined. Over 100 million. And yet 34% of young Americans have a favorable view of communism. This is an education problem – and Kansas can now do something about it.

My siblings and I have been dealing with a lot of health issues for my mom in the past few months. It’s been very hard, and out of respect for her privacy I’ll leave it at that.
Then today we found someone who scammed her, took control of her computer and tried to get access to all of her accounts. By pure chance my sister caught it and avoided some catastrophe.
People who prey on the elderly and infirm deserve a special place in hell.

Linus Torvalds created Linux at 21 without Claude or any other AI.
- He didn't have a co-founder.
- No VC funding. No office.
- No team.
- Just a personal project
he posted to a mailing list:
"I'm doing a free OS."
33 years later,
it runs 97% of the world's servers, all smartphones, and the International Space Station.
The most important software in history started as someone's side project.
Absolute legend.

@Corrine250618 your great China was defeated by Japan in the most humiliating way possible, hence the Nanjing Massacre and the loss of Taiwan. Without the US help, your national language today would be Japanese.
English

Imagine believing that Japan — whose military is constitutionally restricted, dependent on U.S. support, and has lost every major war in the last century — will “humiliate” China in 2026.
A Japan that has been in economic stagnation for 30 years.
Whose technology and industry have been surpassed.
Whose geopolitical relevance is shrinking by the day.
A colonial pet who couldn’t survive in a competitive China, now hiding in Japan, making a living off slandering his own motherland.
There is no difference between the mentalities of the two.
The 21st century will not be China’s “century of humiliation.”
That will be your century of humiliation — and your master’s.
Ken Cao-The China Crash Chronicle@Ken_LoveTW
If China dares to get into another military conflict with Japan, China will be badly defeated by Japan again and the 21st century will be another “century of humiliation” for China.

@JenniferSey Why not give a metal to anyone that thought of showing up?

@DrBrianKeating If you had a freind with a different odd/even plate, you swapped the plates to get around the quota...and you parked the car the night before at the gass station to be at or close to the front of the line.

The Millennial Mind Cannot Comprehend: it’s 1974: the OPEC oil embargo hits.
I’m 3, sitting in a gas line that stretches for miles.
The state enforces odd–even gas rationing based on license plates.
Cars: no A/C, no touch screen navigation, just a worn out Triple-A map.
No power windows or locks, no reclining, no rear seat belts.
Airbags decades away.
Gas had been ~38¢/gal in 1972 and jumped to ~55¢ in 1974 (≈$3–4 today). Self-service pumps weren’t allowed for fear of exceeding your quotas.
Waits lasted hours. Siblings fighting like the caged animals we were.
No phones, no streaming—just a cheesy AM radio DJ spinning Crocodile Rock pulled in by a rusty metal antenna accompanied by a ticking dashboard clock counting down the time till we get our few rationed gallons.
Not in some Soviet exclave…
In Westchester County NY!
