Watching the USMNT’s post-victory celebration with Take Me Home Country Roads playing loud and proud at Levi Stadium was a beautiful sight. I’m so proud to be an American! 🇺🇸 ⚽️

@david_e_lang They weren’t used when they were built, in massively stark contrast to today’s data center buildout. You’re making my point for me in that you’re reasoning by analogy and not making an argument grounded in the economics of tokens and data centers.

or we remember things like the fiber bubble, where the buildout got far ahead of demand, many companies that pushed too hard, too fast lost a lot of money (some went under and the assets they build were purchased by others at a steep discount). all those were good assets, and eventually used, but it didn't mean that there wasn't excessive hype, companies failing, and investors losing their investments along the way.

Those like Burry who are claiming that we’re “obviously in a bubble” don’t seem to actually understand token or infrastructure economics very well. They just see big CAPEX dollars and assume it can’t possibly be sustainable. I’d argue demand for intelligence is nearly infinite.
Gavin Baker@GavinSBaker

The mega bull case for AI infrastructure would be *if* market share shifted away from certain frontier labs with 90%+ inference margins toward cheaper models, whether open-source or closed. It would increase the ROI on AI spend for end customers by increasing intelligence per dollar, which would drive incremental token demand. Margin dollars would effectively get redistributed from the frontier labs to AI infrastructure providers. The infra winners would be those with the lowest per token cost and the winners at the model layer would be those with the highest token efficiency. There are many reasons Jensen is so focused on open source, but this is likely the most important one as I think he is probably less worried about a monopsony these days. Lower margin % at the model layer = more margin $ at the infra layer all else equal. With SpaceX and Meta being vertically integrated and possessing the #3 and #4 models respectively it is more possible than ever. Note that Grok 4.5 is ahead of Fable for some useful tasks at a much lower cost, so ranking them #3 is conservative. This is not happening yet. Cheap, mostly open source tokens are likely the majority of volume today but the majority of economic value is still accruing to the most intelligent models. Might change though. We will see.

I probably won't comment on this too much more as overall I've been disgusted with the fallout of Charlie's murder watching society react, but I need to make this very clear Important context: this is coming from someone that for a time, before any of this happened, enjoyed listening to Candace from time to time and thought she was overall a force for good. That era is long gone Candace has also become a litmus test for your IQ and your discernment in pursuing objective truth, very similar to how Elon is I stopped listening to Candace awhile ago, but to see her digging her heels in instead of showing any signs of humility or remorse for what she's done is astounding We all make mistakes, but she has crossed some lines that should never be crossed imo. And she's done it perpetually, for months. And continues to do so when the facts and new information paints her clearly as wildly inaccuarate at best and evil + satanic at worst I don't wish harm upon anyone, but I do hope she's held accountable in some way. Yes, ask questions. But she was WAY over that line. Yes, free speech. But free speech does not mean free from consequences I hope I'm wrong, but given the facts right now, she appears to be a wolf in sheep's clothing and should not be followed or listened to until something changes

@ThomasAlxDmy You don’t seem to understand that SpaceX will be worth more than the rest of Earth if we accomplish our goals

@elonmusk @dvorahfr My feedback is that it’s crazy Tesla doesn’t advertise when the cars are so good yet the public doesn’t have a clue. Especially when I see you advertising Starlink EVERYWHERE!

@BennieGThompson @VladTheInflator I hope none of your constituents listen to this stupid advice. Free investment account funded by the government and private donors to put a whole new generation participating in the equity markets … game changer but you have to politicize cause of TDS.

It's safe to say, I would pass on a Trump account. Trump University already taught us what happens when his name is on the brochure. Does a $25 million settlement ring a bell?

The Trump administration launched new investment accounts for millions of American children under 18, pairing a one-time $1,000 federal deposit for eligible babies with the opportunity for families and employers to contribute more over time. wapo.st/4eKwKdp

@TimBuzby I don't think he's a scam artist, and I do think most likely MSTR will be fine, but I'm not a fan of how aggressively he's pushed the narrative. It's to the point of a religion with a lot of the imagery he uses, and I think the risks have always been minimized too much.

In my opinion, he’s more similar to Elon than different. Current narrative is that of a Bernie Madoff scam artist, but researching his past yields are very different story of conviction in new technologies, and a strong record in projecting in the future (e.g. The mobile phone revolution). Yes, there is a chance he’s completely lost the plot this time, but I don’t think so.

A country’s vitality is deeply tied to the value it affords to human life in every form and condition, acknowledging the dignity endowed upon every human person by virtue of their very existence. The moral greatness of a nation is manifested, above all, in its capacity to support, protect and cherish the lives of all, especially the most vulnerable and those whose worth is questioned.
