Bro exactly, the whole “you can’t arrest your way out of crime” mantra is one of the biggest intellectual faceplants of the modern era, a slogan cooked up by academics who never had to step over a bloody sidewalk on their way to work. El Salvador just humiliated that entire soft-on-crime cult by showing the world that when you stop kissing criminals on the forehead and actually lock up the predators, the streets go quiet real fast. Bukele pressed the crackdown button and boom, homicide rate fell like a rock, the gangs folded like cheap lawn chairs, and regular people could finally walk outside without writing their will first.
All the pearl-clutching politicians screamed “muh human rights” while ignoring the human right of not getting stabbed by some repeat offender who’s been released 14 times. Turns out when you throw the wolves in cages, the sheep stop dying, who would’ve thought. No violence endorsed, no illegality promoted, just the obvious truth that if you punish criminals, crime falls. El Salvador proved it, America just refuses to admit the damn formula works.
