At least, it’s very good to see @elrufai in the public again. I hope he takes this time to grief, reflect and amend many times to probably take his name off @icpcnigeria and @officialEFCC. I pray Allah forgive the heresies of Hajia Umma and admit her to jannatul-Firdauz. Some of us have been diehard fans of Mallam since 2013 (at least) and when we speak, we generally speak for him. In fact, I vehemently criticized President Tinubu @officialABAT when the senate failed to pass Mallam during his ministerial screening, believing that the president actually didn’t want him in his cabinet. However. Mallam made the greatest mistake of his life when he openly, in a live TV session claimed he tapped the NSA @NuhuRibadu’s phone. That’s the point of no return for him. While I cannot totally say that Mallam is innocent of the charges against him, I can say his continued detention is avoidable and should be avoided. I really wish Mallam the very best, and @B_ELRUFAI, kudos to you. You’ve been playing your politics very well so far. You remain in the APC even when you do not have to and you totally abstain from speaking against the party even in the face of the political fracas involving the party (indirectly) and your dad. I really wish you best, brother. You’re doing wonderful things. I hope either you @B_ELRUFAI or Mallam @elrufai will teach @BashirElRufai how to use the social media (or hire him someone as his media manager) or at best collect the phone from him. He’s doing more harm to the name than good. Allahu-ul musta’an!

If true, it raises serious concerns about priorities and compassion. Denying El-Rufai the opportunity to pay his final respects by attending her burial would be even more troubling. Situations like this can leave lasting impressions, especially in Arewa, if people begin to feel that political considerations are being placed above basic humanity. Regardless of differences or rivalries, empathy and respect should always come first.
