I don’t believe Vance has a strong understanding of geopolitics and the Iran threat in particular so I don’t trust him as a key negotiator on this issue. Let me give you a concrete example. Although Vance opposed the war, he has tried to be a loyal soldier by explaining the value. But even his explanations seem really uninformed. Just last week, he tried to explain why Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon (a point I agree with unlike Realists). To this end, he presented a scenario of Iran passing along nuclear material to terrorists in America who then go on to detonate WMD suicide vests. As a red teamer on terrorism and WMD, I can tell you that ain’t it.

#Trump struck without finishing, and struck without knowing what finished meant. He wounded Iran, then offered a negotiation before extracting a concession. He spent his military credibility without purchasing a political result. He cracked his alliance with Israel and handed the gap to Tehran. He proposed sharing revenues from an international strait in violation of the very legal framework that constrained Iranian leverage. And he did all of this while presenting himself as the antithesis of Obama's vacuous diplomacy — only to reproduce, by an entirely different route, the structural defect of the JCPOA: a deal that buys time for a regime whose fundamental nature was never addressed and whose trajectory was never altered.

Ok this is just getting to be absurd. @TuckerCarlson just suggested on his most recent podcast episode that Israel is behind the attempted assassination of President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. He is using Joe Kent as an authority and source on this. Meanwhile, Joe Kent is a discredited leaker and liar. President Trump has repeatedly said Iran tried to assassinate him. Tucker is just making up every lie in the world and is trying to blame it on Israel. It’s reckless, and it’s created a psychosis in the public for the purpose of making people hate Jews. Tucker is such a nefarious liar and conman. It’s just disgusting. He really is dangerous because he knows he’s lying and he doesn’t care. He gets more extreme with each passing week.

Let’s cut through the noise: Any deal that enables Iran to retain its stockpile of highly enriched uranium, its enrichment capacity, and its ability to threaten the region and the world with its missile arsenal and terrorist proxies would be a profound failure for both the United States and the international community. Let’s hope that’s not what this is.

Where is Marco Rubio? Why haven’t we seen him lately? Why is JD Vance, a close ally of Tucker Carlson, pushing policies that risk undermining US progress in the war? And why is Trump placing his trust in JD when Rubio is widely regarded as one of the most knowledgeable and reliable voices on foreign policy in the administration?
