@LundukeJournal Incoming “voluntary” passkey-only DID protocol. Cars made after 2030 will require user confirmation to operate.

It is truly preposterous, the number of Operating Systems which the new Age Verification laws would technically apply to. From the latest Federal bill (HR 8250): “The term “operating system” means software that supports the basic functions of a computer, mobile device, or any other general purpose computing device.” In other words… FreeDOS would need to implement Age Verification under this bill. An open source MS-DOS clone which doesn’t even have the concept of “users”. Truly insane.

@LundukeJournal according to this bill my still-working apple powerbook 170 running mac os7 will need to have a shoehorned age verification forced into it. this thing doesn't even have user authentication, just turn it on and chill.

The Parents Decide Act makes Apple and Google verify every user's age at device setup. The bill doesn't say how. It hands that to the FTC, so a federal agency gets to decide whether your face scan, ID, or credit card is the price of turning on a phone. It's called the Parents Decide Act but parents don't decide anything. The FTC decides what counts as age verification, Apple and Google decide how to collect it, and every American hands over ID to turn on a phone. Parents lose power. The state gains it. reclaimthenet.org/us-bill-mandat…

@LuisAlejandro @alfkkifine “Let me explain to you how to properly respond to such situations with True Empathy by doing the exact opposite in immediately shutting you down, invalidating and correcting you.”

This is just plain wrong. You cannot have action and empathy at the same time, they are incompatible. The emotional state required for one is the opposite of the other. Ideally, you would offer empathy FIRST, which requires stillness, presence and understanding. After she's reached a point where she's prepared to listen to alternatives, THEN you can be pragmatic and proactive. That being said, that is TERRIBLY difficult for us men. We are always in proactive mode; we need some training to lower the guard and be present.

The internet constantly tells women that men are terrible listeners because the second a woman starts venting about her day, the man immediately interrupts to offer a logical solution. We are taught to view this as him being dismissive, emotionally unintelligent, or invalidating our feelings. The strict, unpopular truth is that to a man, fixing the problem is his absolute highest, most desperate form of empathy. Women vent to connect; we want our partner to just sit in the dark with us and validate the emotion. But men are hardwired to view the woman they love being in distress as an active threat. When he immediately offers a spreadsheet, a strategy, or a solution to your problem, he isn't trying to silence you. His brain has recognized that something in the world is hurting his partner, and his immediate, visceral instinct is to assassinate the thing causing you pain. We constantly shame men for "not just listening," completely ignoring the fact that his attempt to fix your life is his most profound declaration of love.

what opinion about men do you have that makes people feel like this???

Let me also piss off the Bitcoin clan today too: The problem Bitcoin has for now is that people still have to buy USD first before they can buy anything other than safe passage toll through the Strait of Hormuz —Only to be stopped by the US govt for paying the toll in Bitcoin

Digital ID systems always promise security and always deliver breaches. The EU's new age verification app got hacked in under two minutes. Passport photos were stored unencrypted. PIN protection was bypassed with a text editor. Von der Leyen called it "technically ready." Every ID check is a future breach waiting to happen... reclaimthenet.org/eu-age-verific…

The Illinois law (HB 5511) which would require Operating Systems to add Age Verification has passed the Illinois House of Representatives and is now moving to the State Senate. The vote was 82 to 27 in favor of the law. HB 5511 is sponsored entirely by a group of 11 Democrat Representatives (no Republicans), and was voted for by every Democrat in the Illinois House (as well as a small number of Republicans). All 27 law makers who voted “Nay” on this bill were Republicans. This law was pitched specifically as a “Children’s Social Media” bill, but is heavily focused on all “Internet connected Operating Systems” One unique part of this law, when compared to other “Operating Systems Age Verification” laws, is that it provides an exemption to some of the age requirements… if the Operating Systems provides a paid “Family Account Platform”. The idea is that a parent could create an umbrella “Family” account which would then treat all sub-members of that account (including kids) as having the same age as the parent who created the account. For example: the OS would report that a 7 year old is really 37 (or whatever age the parent is). But this is *only* allowed when such a “Family Account Platform” is a paid feature. It cannot be free. In other words: Age verification for your kids, on all computers, unless you pay. Then your kids are the same age as you. Peculiar. The bill is now waiting to be picked up by a Senate committee. This is not likely to happen before April 28th, when the Illinois Senate is back in session.

So they were fishing in a private pond, where this guy purchased the fish to populate the pond, with signs that explicitly said "no fishing", and they're not the first people that came to steal his fish. The guy may or may not be a state trooper. He didn't blow their brains out nor did he arrest them. He just wanted to intimidate them into respecting his property. He also seemed very distressed over the fish's suffering from hanging from a hook. Verdict: The guy overdid it but his reaction was understandable. He may have mistook them for adults, too. Nobody got hurt in the end, and no further attention should be given to it.

Harmonious Geometry: The Hirajoshi Wave. Watch as these gravity-defying spheres trace the hauntingly beautiful paths of the C Hirajoshi scale. Each ball is tuned to a specific frequency within this traditional Japanese pentatonic scale (C, D, Eb, G, Ab), creating a mesmerizing "Polyrhythmic Pendulum" effect. As the balls oscillate at slightly different speeds, they drift into chaotic patterns before perfectly realigning into a breathtaking visual and auditory climax. From the sharp, angular bounce to the fluid, sweeping curves of the rainbow trails, this is where physics meets fine art. Credit: project.jdm
