Yesterday, I had the honor of speaking to the historic @NASAArtemis crew.
I asked MD native & Commander @astro_reid what advice he'd give any young person looking to follow in his footsteps.
His message: explore & keep trying. Learning how to fail can be the key to success.

Company donated steel to ballroom, then got tariff exemption, per NYT.
Ana Swanson@AnaSwanson
@lukebroadwater President Trump said in October that he had been offered a donation of steel worth $37 million, though he did not name the donor. That announcement came just two days before the White House announced a tariff exemption that would benefit ArcelorMittal's Canadian plant.

"A whole civilization will die tonight” are words no President of the United States had ever spoken until this morning. Donald Trump’s behavior is unhinged and making Americans less safe. After a 25-year career in the United States Navy, I have never met or served with anyone who so completely lacks the qualities of good leadership as Donald Trump does.
If the President takes the actions he has threatened to take, countless Iranian civilians will die, it will massively escalate this war, and the United States will be seen as a country without a moral or ethical compass. That will make Americans less safe right now and risk the lives of thousands of service members. The consequences will have a lasting and damaging effect on our nation.
Trump's mistakes have led us to this perilous moment, but the solution is not to escalate even further. This must stop.

If you are at Paul Weiss and are wondering if we have forgotten your firm's betrayal of democracy, we haven't.
If you are wondering if we are judging you for remaining there, we are. wsj.com/business/c-sui…

Congratulations to Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen for traveling farther from Earth than any human beings in history; you make the rest of us proud! @NASA and their partners have always pushed the bounds of scientific discovery and today is no different. A momentous day for humankind! Safe travels, Artemis II. @NASAArtemis

Death is always lurking. We see it in violence, in the wounds of the world, in the cry of pain that rises from every corner because of the abuses that crush the weakest among us, because of the idolatry of profit that plunders the earth’s resources, because of the violence of war that kills and destroys. #Easter

@StevenCheung47 How did Obama kill the space program? If he had kept Ares I, we'd likely still need Soyuz to get to ISS. Crew Dragon wouldn't exist without Obama standing up to Congress. You obviously don't care about NASA, since politicizing it undermines what has been bi-partisan progress.

It was inspiring to watch the Artemis II launch yesterday — @NASA’s first crewed mission around the moon since 1972. Our space program has always captured an essential part of what it means to reach beyond what we thought was possible, and I hope the four brave astronauts on this mission will inspire a new generation to follow in their footsteps.

Bruce Springsteen closed his concert in Minneapolis by paying tribute to Renée Good and encouraging fans to heed John Lewis's famous call to "get into good trouble."
"These are the hard times, but we'll make it through. We're the Americans. But I think — I know — for me, the hardest part about all of this is feeling the distance between your neighbors, your fellow citizens, and that distance… well, it can darken your soul. Now we have a leader who says he wishes nothing but ill upon the people he disagrees with, and who disagree with him. I don't feel that way. America, from the beginning, was born out of disagreement. It was built on disagreement. We can argue about what course we thought the country should take while recognizing our common humanity, our dignity and, yes, our unity...
"I go back to thinking about Renée Good's last words before she died, to the man who she was protesting against, the man who would take her life. She said, 'That's fine, dude, I’m not mad at you. I'm not mad.' God bless her.
"So tonight, when you go home, hold your loved ones close. And tomorrow, do as Renée did, find a way to take aggressive, peaceful action to defend our country’s ideals. And as the great civil rights leader John Lewis said, 'Go out and get into some good trouble. Say something. Do something. Help! Sing something!' If you're feeling helpless, hopeless, betrayed, frustrated, angry … I know I've been. That's why The E Street Band is here tonight. This is a tour that was not planned. We’re here tonight because we need to feel your hope, and your strength. And we want to bring some hope and some strength for you. I hope we did that. All I can say is God bless Alex Pretti, God bless Renée Good, God bless you, and God bless America."
