@BluesKruse20 @ToddFuhrman If he left, it blows up again and they have to start over. At some point, extending a coach 2 years, restructuring the contract to be performance-based (he didn't get a raise) is better than finding another head coach.

@BluesKruse20 @ToddFuhrman There's going to be 15-20 P5 jobs available in Dec. At this point, you can ridicule it, but they rather have a coach that has a current roster of 75% underclassmen in place, 2 2027 5-stars committed, and some actual progress Nebraska has not seen in 10 years. Stability matters

@steveo4real @_4SpecialK_ @petenakos @on3 CU has improved substantially?! You mean like doubling their average season win total from 2 to 4? My grandma has been in a wheelchair since '13 and she had more offensive yards than CU did last week. They had 1 good year because they had 2 incredible players that CARRIED.

@mu_phd @PickSixPreviews Oh, I chose that as a joke. But these schools rank the same from the return of unlimited substitutions - present day (1965-2024). Nebraska is 4th overall in wins, and tied for 2nd in National Championships from 1965-2024. 1st in wins from 1965-2016.

@DoctorDoogs @PickSixPreviews What a weird demarcation year. Post WWII or since the advent of unlimited substitution makes more sense.

@KMAOTWOTD @BobBekkerus @PickSixPreviews A bad 7 years has skewed everyone's perception. From 2001-2016, they averaged 8.5 wins a year. If people want to remove them for 7 bad years when they had the 3rd most wins in CFB post WW2 until hiring Frost, I guess that's their choice.

@BobBekkerus @KMAOTWOTD @PickSixPreviews Decades of awful is important to call out. Post WW2, Minnesota has averaged 5.2 wins/year. 80 year average of 5.2 isn't great. Nebraska has averaged 4.9 the last decade. So yes, Nebraska could be Minnesota-esque around 2080 if they continued.

@KMAOTWOTD @PickSixPreviews Sure. But championships sustain longer when you don’t have a full decade of complete mediocrity in the more recent past. My Gophers have a rich history too, but decades of awful made it irrelevent. Sorry I missed 97. 28 years.

@Dawgs4Life95 @ChrisTesch4 @TrueBlueBYU1984 @TrojanFBx They had more wins than Bama from 1962-2015. They have "sucked" for 7 years. They averaged 9 wins for a solid decade straight from 08-16. They've been more successful than ND in every metric during modern college football, but ND has done better at losing natties.

@CFBHome If Alabama can remain ranked past week 1 in 2030 (rough guess), they'll pass Nebraska's all-time record of 348.

@dwitdamoti0n @ChampSplatts @DarenStoltzfus Yeah that explains the 30 years prior and the fact they have a worse record since firing Rhule. Rhule is your scapegoat for bad football when as long as Tepper has a pulse, you'll cheer for the worst team in the NFL.

At Big 12 Media Days, Scott Frost was asked what he learned from working at Nebraska. He said, "Don't take the wrong job." Cue the outrage. Today at Big Ten Media days, current Huskers head coach Matt Rhule backed up him: "This wasn't a good job. It was not a good job."

Rick Ware Racing competition director Tommy Baldwin said on Door Bumper Clear today that NASCAR told the team that Cody Ware's crash at Chicago was "probably" the worst head-on hit recorded in the Next Gen car. Said Ware is "a little sore" but commended his performance at Chicago as well as his CARS Tour PLM performance at Caraway as he further develops and learns how to compete in cars capable of running up front. Baldwin mentioned that NASCAR has said they're going to address some matters concerning the incident and the response to it that has been criticized. Mentioned the placement of the tire barriers as something that will also be looked at.

To summarize Rutgers’ basketball season: Had the No. 2 and No. 5 picks in the NBA Draft on their roster in Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey. Lost their Adidas deal for the entire athletic department because Harper and Bailey wore Nike shoes. Went 15-17. Missed the NCAA Tournament.

NEW: Thomas Castellanos is confident in Florida State's chances in the ACC, he tells @petenakos🍢 “I feel like I tore the ACC up by my damn self for the last two years, and now I’m with a squad. I hope people don’t think that Florida State is going to be the same team it was last year because we have weapons. People can’t just sit back in zone coverage and watch me.” on3.com/news/thomas-ca…

Castellanos was benched at BC and then quit the team three days later He was 4-8 in ACC games (20 TD - 13 INT) BC's Castellanos-led offense ranked 60th of 68 Power 4 in my opponent-adjusted metrics. Without him, QB Grayson James improved that to 35th
