- Both OSU and Army finished (9-0)
- OSU went 5-0 on the road; Army went 1-0 on the road.
- OSU won the Sugar Bowl 33-13; Army did not get invited to a bowl game.
- OSU beat six ranked opponents; Army beat five ranked opponents.
- OSU’s Bob Fenimore led the nation in total offense and rushing, while also adding 72 points, 593 passing yards, and 7 interceptions.
- OSU still holds major 1945 team records on defense, including fewest points allowed, lowest average points allowed, and fewest yards allowed per game.
