Pollock's splashes, splotches, swipes, drips & shapes are decorative nothings best suited to brighten up the dull concrete brutalist foyer of a hedge fund/corporate headquarters &c, who can afford 'painting by the yard' (cf Max von Sydow in Hannah) but they don't represent profundity by allusion, any more than does Rothko. My god the profundity!:
