Every day I miss the Planeswalker Points system :( even if it had nothing on the line, looking up head-to-heads against locals, seeing who your tournament demon is, having regional leaderboards, that shit was so fun

@CavernOnHumans @fireshoes @TeamMainPhase Tragic. Pioneer is so good right now and more affordable than pretty much every other competitive format if you want to have multiple good decks.

@fireshoes I was gonna go to play Pioneer and cheer on the @TeamMainPhase homies, but I don't wanna get stuck fetching snacks for them all weekend long now. 🤣

I don’t think I’ve been less excited for a Magic set than I have been for the teenage mutant ninja turtles set. I don’t like the style, the art, or the cards. I miss Magic planes and lore a lot.

@fivewithflores Fair enough. I do feel like it is currently better, but that could always change if the format had a spotlight again on the meta.

@Draftzilla307 When I was playing Pioneer RCQs a couple of years back the win rate advantage going first exceeded the win rate expectation of any deck in the metagame

So I’m reading a lot of lament about Modern and Standard RCQs not firing Believe me people are interested in playing good formats of Magic locally We get 40+ for Pauper every Tuesday and fire 3x per week; get 20+ for Premodern It’s just that Modern is literally unplayable #ama

Format needs like, abrupt decay. Would solve a lot of issues.

Ended #SCGPORTLAND much worse than it started. Felt like most my matches were blow outs one way or another. Re qualified for another RC but not interested in standard or modern. Oh well. Was a learning experience.

Sultai Reanimator is one of the most unique decks of this Standard format, & New Orleans native Nico Ferrigno piloted it to a Top 8 this weekend! He also became the second player in the Top 8 to shout out Wistfulness as his best card on the weekend, particularly against Lessons.
