I wonder how many times collectors will say “this set sucks” or “hah this will never be worth anything Pokemon over printed” before realizing how much XY evo boxes sell for today… the MOST PRINTED SET IN HISTORY! Scarlet and Violet era will be under valued all the way through 2026 and then everyone is going to wish they grabbed it up. This isn’t even a theory it’s just fact… but obsidian flames booster box today for $108 it will be $137 in 2026 that’s 21% return in 1.5 years 🤷‍♂️

With all these streamers and rip ‘n’ shippers etc opening vintage Pokémon constantly, isn’t it eventually going to run out? Like, there’s only so much Base Set that was printed over 25 years ago, how do people continuously rip it still?

That product is not a distribution item, there is no Pokemon official sell sheet, it is provided to GameStop via special agreement. The only “distro” may be MJ or Excell but they would only have authorization to send it to GameStop in the US. Any boxes they received are from international sources and done so outside of any official capacity as they’re not official authorized to work with intl distribution. This hobby is filled with rule breaking and different orgs playing by different rules. If you get product from a “distributor” outside of the authorized chain, then it’s not distro it’s just reselling and buying at a mark up.

This is what’s wrong with the hobby. One rip and shipper has this much product whilst your local @gamestop will have 10.

@malvvvada Hang in there… the entrepreneurs path is paved in moments of doubt. They never really go away but the alternative is to always wonder how high you could have reached and that’s a fate I wouldn’t wish on anyone that has drive.
