Today, I had the opportunity to address the incoming @CDCgov Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) officers and Laboratory Leadership Service (LLS) fellows. I shared my journey into public health and outlined our road ahead in building the future of public health together.

I defended my dissertation today, and it feels a little surreal. I’m so grateful to the family, friends, classmates, and mentors who have supported me along this journey. I was so surprised how many people tuned in for the presentation and helped us celebrate. Feeling the ❤️

As K-12 students return to classes, you might find it useful to track where your county's COVID case rate is at, and how it compares to other counties in your state and around the country. You can do all that here: z.umn.edu/covidschools

A year ago I tried the Moderna vaccine to see if it was safe. (Spoiler: It is!) Now, on my #COVIDvaccine anniversary, I’m happy to share that I just got a 3rd dose. This booster experiment will reveal (1) if strain-adapted vaccines boost immunity & (2) whether they are safe.
