@Tsunalyst The philosopher king would not care what they say about politics… Hence the “philosopher” part. I mean this even in a muslim configuration of this ideal

I don’t care much for the Philosopher King/Vilayet-e Faqih ideal because as nice as it is to have in theory, the best leader now will be the pragmatist who doesn’t care much for what the ‘Ulama say about politics, but understands their role in state-building alongside pedagogues.
