@brytfarms We disk after wheat harvest, let the wheat sprout, put manure/sulfur on, cultivate, and plant in August. Have very good luck with it.

Ran out of nurse crop when seeding this alfalfa in 2021. Finished field. Seriously considering direct alfalfa seeding next spring. Who direct seeds? Nurse crop brings lots of DM for heifers 💁‍♂️

@FHosper @ayrporte Yes I know....but a mortgage payment, property tax and house insurance is well over $2,000/month here. That's over $10/ hour more I need to have the same left over at the end of the month as a foreign worker.

A young local guy milked his cows for the last time today after 7 years of trying to make a go of it...got me thinking. What would I do if I sold out??? Honestly, I don't know!!! And that scares me alittle
