@ZackPolanski Remind me again, what exactly are this poison dwarf of a mouthpiece’s qualifications on the subject? 🤔🤔🤔

This is only the beginning. The climate crisis is here. So why are politicians and most of the media still acting as though this can wait? It can't. We can still avoid some of the worst impacts - but only if we find the courage to act. metro.co.uk/2026/06/22/gre…

Germany apparently wants to deport a bunch of Syrian “refugees” but Syria has decided “no backsies.” What happens then? If a country refuses to allow its own citizens to be returned, what does the host country do with them?

I’ve never seen a man over the age of 61 here. Are all the young people here in their teens or twenties? Are there any adults over 61?

@raelbrav I agree totally. Making a protest is one thing but drowning out our Prime Minister is quite another. Shocking and disgraceful

Yet again, we can barely hear the Prime Minister speaking on the steps of Downing Street because someone is blasting music in the background and nobody seems able or willing to stop it. For me, it is symbolic of a country that has lost its sense of seriousness. We cannot even ensure that a national address from the heart of government can be heard properly. Small things matter because they reflect a wider culture. I am tired of living in a country that increasingly seems incapable of doing basic things with competence and authority.

First Gay Dad’ Barrie Drewitt-Barlow Faces Child Sex Charges as 18 More Offences Are Added. Quite honestly, this is deeply disturbing. Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, once widely known as one of Britain’s “first gay dads,” and his husband Scott Hutchinson, are now facing a staggering number of serious allegations. Drewitt-Barlow, 57, and Hutchinson, 32, had already indicated not guilty pleas to charges including rape, sexual assault and modern slavery trafficking for sexual exploitation. But now, ahead of a further court appearance, Essex Police have revealed the couple have been charged with 18 additional offences. Drewitt-Barlow alone faces 15 new charges, including two counts of sexual activity with a child and two counts of paying for the sexual services of a child. The remaining charges include five counts of rape, four counts of sexual assault, causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent, and causing or inciting sexual activity. Hutchinson faces three additional charges two counts of rape and one count of causing or inciting sexual activity. They were not asked to enter pleas when they appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court. Prosecutor Louise Oakley KC told the court they now face a trial scheduled for 18 January next year, expected to last eight to ten weeks. If proven true, the scale and severity of these allegations are horrifying. The priority now must be justice, accountability, and above all protecting vulnerable children. Absolutely shocking.

Today is also the end of Lord Hermer. A horrible little man. Now he can get back to his day job - representing jihadis and people linked to the IRA, and hounding brave British military veterans.

@benonwine I thought it was disgusting that some loser played Ode to Joy loudly throughout his statement. This guy is our Prime Minister and he deserves respect I didn't vote for him but he should be treated with decency

It’s hard to understand how Andy Burnham could be the next Prime Minister when only two weeks ago he wasn’t even an MP. The country should decide who leads the people — at the ballot box — call a general election.

Burnham’s economic architect Miatta Fahnbulleh recommends, among other things: •A wealth tax and yet another windfall tax on oil and gas. •Mass nationalisation e.g. of land, transport, and energy. •Extending national insurance to investment income. •A cap on interest rates and charges on every form of consumer credit. •Hiking capital gains tax to income tax levels. •Hiking divided tax to income tax levels. •Abolition of the upper earnings limit for national insurance. •Huge expansion of the benefits system including a “minimum income guarantee” paid to everyone apart from the rich. •Nationalisation of banks and creation of new “green” banks with taxpayer funds. •Block on private banks lending to anyone with a “large amount of greenhouse gas emissions” and “penalisation of banks that provide too many carbon-intensive loans.“ •Forced sale of existing businesses to employees. •A tripling of the stamp duty surcharge to 9% for multiple homeowners and an increase to 6% for non-residents.
Cut My Tax@CutMyTaxUK

There are two worrying aspects to this New Statesman article: 1. Andy Burnham apparently doesn't have many brains. 2. Miatta Fahnbulleh is filling the gap. Quasi-Marxist Miatta Fahnbulleh, who wants a wealth tax, widespread nationalisation inc. banks, land, transport & energy & the forced sale of existing firms to employees, is one of the worst people to put in charge of economic policy. She's a high tax fanatic tax who wants there to be 'free basic energy' & for state owned companies to flood the energy market. 1/3

Mike Tapp has called for a major constitutional change: a law that would trigger a General Election whenever the governing party removes its leader. He argues that if a party forces out its own leader, the public not just MPs behind closed doors should get the final say at the ballot box. In his words: “That would stop the constant churn and focus all politicians on delivery, instead of workplace politics. The country would benefit.” I actually agree with him and think this is a good idea. What’s your thoughts?
