Any LLM is GenAI.
Even Google Translate has been a Transformer since like 2018. Transformers as a whole were originally researched for a more accurate Google Translate, and benchmarked as more accurate than NMT for such tasks (@SENG00N)

If we talk about machine learning all is technically generative ai, because as those models generate output based on given input based on examples they been trained on, recognition models generate labels, transcription models generate text, also image generation started as denoiser model simply feeded with totaly random input it started to hallucinate creating random images later refined to control that process, LLMs started as auto complete models.

Anyway, I hate the term "GenAI" anyway because it's a loosely defined buzzword. Twitter users just want something to get mad at, and keep narrowing down to more and more obscure terms as they slowly realise everything has been AI for decades

That's the thing, the cat's out of the bag on AI. Open models are Very Good, good enough to get 80% of the way there with enough tweaking, good enough to eventually get us the rest of the way there.
The best the Butlerian Left can do is serve as a very whiny roadbump.
