Operators are aware that some areas did not restore following the are wide outage affecting customers feeding from Roodetown, Kloofendaal, Ontdekkers, Nursery, Florida North, Peter Road Substations.
One team remains on site monitoring the load affecting areas such as Wilgeheuwel and surrounds while the other team is investigating areas such as Weltevredenpark that did not restore.
The initial outage was caused by faults on the 88kV double circuit overhead lines.
Further details will be shared after the tests are completed.

Sentraal Substation, Roodetown Substation, Kloofendaal Substation, Christiaan De Wet Substation, Peter Road Substation (Witpoortjie, Roodepoort West, Weltevredenpark, Lindhaven, Manufacta, Reefhaven, Westgate and surrounding areas): City Power is aware of an area-wide power outage affecting Roodetown and surrounding areas.
The outage is due to a suspected 88kV overhead line (OHL) fault on Kloofendal 1.
City Power operators are currently on site, and Eskom is expected to switch on once it is safe to do so.

Operators on site are reporting that the Roodetown Substation tripped on Eskom’s side and they are investigating further.
