@SamuelParkerRTD Also, private convos out of context and simply wrong. More context would be hot mic where you don’t catch the content of the actual meeting but the private convos at that one table.

At the impromptu budget conference between Mayor Avula’s administration and City Council, there’s currently no seating for press. We’ve been told by CAO Odie Donald II that we cannot put microphones on the tables because there could be “private conversation” between attendees.

Our city's for-profit daily newspaper closed its downtown headquarters. Our city's nonprofit broadcast company is spending $65 million to build downtown headquarters. Would it have been cheaper to swap?

Why does the RTD run a special announcement about the ending of an inanimate object, but nothing about its layoffs of journalists themselves?

I'm sorry to see our daily paper in Richmond, VA, lose its three reporters covering breaking news, Chesterfield County, and Henrico and Hanover counties. I wonder if this could create opportunities in Chesterfield, which lost the Observer in 2023. 📷 Utsav Srestha
