Seeing a lot of claims today that being White British means you can trace your family back 1,000 years. No. That is not how genealogy works. Parish registers in England and Wales were ordered by Thomas Cromwell in 1538, but many only become consistently useful from the 1600s, sometimes later. Before that, you need wills, land records, manorial records, court records, tax records etc. Most online trees are not done to Genealogical Proof Standard (GPS) and are often full of copied errors. I’ve been commissioned to research numerous family trees to GPS, and only on a handful of occasions have I been able to prove a line back to nobility. Some people can prove a line back 1,000 years, but usually through a documented gateway into gentry or nobility. Plenty of ordinary British families trace back several centuries and remain exactly that … ordinary British families. Ancestry hints are not a medieval blood oath… #pet hate

I believe all lives matter. However… What was done to Iryna Zarutska was beyond heartbreaking.
