Did you read the Little House on the Prairie Books as a child and if so, old are you now? I'm teaching a class and none of the students have heard of these titles much less read them. I'm trying to see when these books fell out of favor...

@JayHulmePoet I absolutely love this kind of thing, had never heard of them before and have fallen down an internet rabbit hole now...turns out there is one on my church and one on my street! Going hunting later :)

Our family were split across the world for more than two years due to COVID - kids and me in the UK, my husband in New Zealand. Kids at Uni in Edinburgh and Belfast, me in Loughborough. Part of the coping mechanism was the teddy bears’ story. Introducing Peanut bear… 1/10

@ruthgr Absolutely! I played a recording of my son singing: “I know that my Redeemer liveth” for the end of my All Age talk while the kids drew pictures of themselves meeting God (masses of glitter!) Just wonderful.

It’s 3 November. The apples of England have just been picked - a bumper year, but my local @sainsburys is selling apples flown 12,000 miles from New Zealand. How can that make any sense? ‘Net zero by 2035’ @sainsburys?

If you knew what you knew now about high quality masking before covid would you have masked during cold and flu season pre covid? For me the answer is yes. I have not had 1 cold since the pandemic started and post Feb 2020 covid infection.

@kjramseywrites Yes I agree! I wrote a poem on "renewal"(altho still machiney)where the oil and care help where the mind was "seized solid with pain" and another where work with my mind is a love story, a redemption song, instead of a "battle".There the air is so fresh that lichens thrive :)

One more thought: I take issue with the metaphor of re-wiring our nervous systems because for many trauma survivors, the language reinforces our brokenness rather than reflecting back our inherent worth and capacity for wholeness.

Have to be honest: I’m weary of the language of re-wiring when it comes to our nervous systems. You aren’t a bundle of wires, a machine to master and repair. You are a mystery, a majesty—the wholeness available within you is more than wiring you need to get right or repair.

Having a day when I have to adjust* the amount I hope to achieve due to neurodivergent thought treacle & ropey mental health. Slowly learning to not be a massive git to myself about this as it would make the murky brain soup worse. I’ll be over here, napping. *shrink by loads

@candidate99 @ASwHTchurch Thank you so much! All Saints is a glorious and rare exception, I’m learning. But I’m living in Norfolk now so the commute is a bit far. Missing it though.

Wondering honestly how long I can keep trying to go to church. Attending alone with a 3yo and 5yo leaves me in tears on most occasions. Finding somewhere that’s not theologically conservative with some children’s ministry seems almost impossible, especially in more rural areas.

When @BorisJohnson raised this glass and chortled, 60,000 of us still lived, still breathed, who, only three months later, would be dead. Never, never forget. THIS is his true legacy. He threw that wine into the faces of us all.
