Over the last few days, I have been inundated with British Muslims sharing their experiences of both racism and anti-Muslim hostility. Asking me to cover their stories. Hundreds of emails and DMs across my inboxes. Several common feelings expressed is the distrust in sharing these incidents with legacy media and "nothing happens" when the police are called. Islamophobia and racism is under reported and the current statistics do not reflect the true number. One Muslim mother has told me how her daughter has been subjected to continuous singling out by teachers at her school. One teacher even went to the extent of saying "remove your hijab if you cannot hear me". If the likes of Nigel Farage, Tommy Robinson and Rupert Lowe do not get pulled up for their hateful inflammatory language around migrants and Muslims, things like this are only going to get worse.
