I am very concerned by the reported continued harassment & criminalisation of WHRD Dr. Sabiha Baloch & her family by the authorities in #Pakistan, as well as the ongoing targeting of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC). This appears to be in response to their peaceful promotion & defence of human rights & must stop @PakUN_Geneva

PJAK: Neither Tehran nor Washington; a “third way” for the Kurds As military tensions rise between Iran on one side and the United States and Israel on the other, the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) has stressed its “third way” policy. Rozerîn Kemanger, a senior member of the party and head of communications of the Free Women’s Society of East Kurdistan (KJAR), said in an interview with Jacobin (@jacobinmag_de) that the current war between powers “is not a project for the liberation of the Kurdish people.” Kemanger pointed to the internal situation in Iran and said that, in her view, besides external conflicts, the Iranian government has for years faced internal dissatisfaction, especially among women and young people. She said the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement has increased social awareness, and according to her, recent crises have not strengthened the government but instead have led to more protests. While some media have talked about possible cooperation between Kurdish groups and the US, this PJAK official called such claims “propaganda.” Referring to past experiences, including developments in Syria, she said that Kurds do not want to act within the framework of global power competition. She added: “We rely on our society and our own strength.” Kemanger also stressed the importance of unity among Kurdish parties in East Kurdistan and said it is an important factor in the current situation. She mentioned the idea of a “democratic nation” as a model for peaceful coexistence of different groups in Iran, saying it could be an alternative to the current centralized system. In another part of the interview, she highlighted the role of women in social changes and said KJAR is one of the main groups organizing women. She also referred to some female political prisoners as symbols of resistance. "Personalities like Zeynab Jalalian, Varisheh Moradi, Pakhshan Azizi and many others have become the voice of all women in Iran; now it is our responsibility to be their voice." In the end, said that, in her opinion, in the current situation, societies will be more successful if they rely on internal organization and social strength instead of depending on foreign powers. jacobin.de/artikel/kurden…

Iranian missiles advocate women’s rights more than political claimants and feminist movements do.

Hi @_mahdichowdhury I’m surprised you would say this as an academic who has pitched The Juggernaut to write with us. To quote Puja, there’s a fine line between constructive criticism and tearing down people. Kind of surprised you think it’s okay to do so, that too for a woman-owned publication during women’s history month!

Our dear Mendy Katz, a treasured and beloved member of the Chabad community in Connecticut, today bears a heartbreak that words barely hold. His 22-year-old son, Moshe Yitzchak, a Sgt. in the IDF, was taken from this world in Lebanon fighting for all of us. He leaves a void that aches through every corner of our community. The pain we share is raw and heavy, but so is our love for Mendy, his family, and all who mourn. May we surround them with warmth, courage, and unwavering support in these darkest hours. May his memory be a blessing, now and forever.

If i was a cokehead i'd be terrified of Raza Pahlavi. Man has a nose that can snort your cocaine in London while he's sitting in LA

March 25, 1971 is observed as Genocide Day. On the occasion of Genocide Day, 1 pay my deepest respect to all the martyrs. In the history of freedom-loving Bangladesh, 25 March 1971 remains one of the most disgraceful and brutal days. On that dark night, the Pakistani occupation forces carried out one of the most heinous genocides in history against the unarmed people of Bangladesh in the name of 'Operation Searchlight". They indiscriminately opened fire on teachers, intellectuals and innocent civilians at various places, including Dhaka University, Pilkhana and Rajarbāgh Police Lines, killing many people. The genocide of 25 March was a pre-planned massacre. Why this organised killing spree could not be resisted remains a matter of historical research regarding the visible role of the political leadership of that time. However, on the night of 25 March, the 8th East Bengal Regiment in Chattogram formally initiated armed resistance against the genocide by declaring 'We Revolt'. Through this resistance to genocide, the long nine-month armed Liberation War began. To convey the value and significance of independence to the present and future generations, it is essential to know about the genocide of 25 March as well. Let us all strive to honour the sacrifices of the martyrs by establishing in the state and society the spirit of the great Liberation War - equality, human dignity and social justice. Let us work together to build a just, developed, prosperous, self-reliant and democratic Bangladesh. I pray to the Almighty Allah to grant forgiveness and eternal peace to the departed souls of all the martyrs. On the occasion of Genocide Day on 25 March. I wish every success to all the programmes organised to observe the day.

Today, mother, 64, was sentenced to three terms of life imprisonment by an Indian court for her participation in Kashmiri liberation struggle. Father, is already serving a life sentence since 1993, for the same reason. Two among many lifetimes that the occupation has stolen.

Let's don't forget Jinnah's vision of the 23rd March of Pakistan: Muslim majority provinces in the North-West and the North-East of India should be "grouped to constitute independent states in which the constituent units ... would be autonomous and soveregn".

Today marks a year since the @BalochYakjehtiC leadership was taken hostage and imprisoned illegally—in gross violations of their rights & freedoms—by the colonial military generals & their partners, bureaucrats, from Punjab. The Baloch rights defenders must be free immediately!
