Inside Nigeria’s factories, real change is happening. As part of the GEF–UNIDO Industrial Energy Efficiency (IEE) and Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) Project, our team recently conducted Cleaner Production Assessment (CPA) visits to selected manufacturing facilities across Nigeria. CPA is a hands-on, on-site process where experts collaborate with management and technical teams to identify practical opportunities for: - Improved energy efficiency - Reduced resource waste - Cost savings - Lower environmental impact What stood out during these visits was not just the data or systems, but the openness of factory teams, the questions being asked, and the genuine commitment to improvement. From production floors to management discussions, the CPA visits confirmed that Nigeria’s industries are ready to transition to smarter, cleaner, and more competitive operations. These assessments are not inspections; they are partnerships designed to help companies enhance performance while contributing to national and global sustainability goals.
