@Awele_sofine The gothic feel is wow. Was in Edinburgh twice last year, would likely be there in June as it is about an hour flight from London.

This city in Scotland, Edinburgh has no skyscraper. It's still rooted in olden days architecture. My question, how's it the only city without skyscraper in the world? Have they come to Nigeria? Nnewi no get skyscraper o Would you like to live here? Or go for a visit?

Covid set of “Japa” into the UK came in a wave between Sept 2020, when lockdown was lifted, and 2021. This frontline soldiers of post-covid care are now becoming due for permanent settlement from this year. How the Trusts hope to keep people with PhDs and dual master’s in data science and cybersecurity as HCAs is unclear. Wo, King eyes sef go peel.

@ChisomAgbafor He should learn to say NO, while finding his footing. Tougher days ahead but resilience is needed. I went through this same phase, worked in factories, night shifts, no shifts for weeks etc. Today, settled well in a job I studied for in school, working for a London borough.

Most immigrants either don't pay ATTENTION or are wilfully ignorant. If regular 9-5 was the answer in the UK 🇬🇧 , why are ur "ogas" in the same 9-5 starting side hustles, selling U consultation session to ace your interview, write better CVs and get promotion at work? 😊 Baba, Wake up and be Smart!

Before you leave your home on a short or long trip, pray that you use the same legs you used in leaving your house and return home. There are really alot of things wrong here. 1. This woman has a one month baby and left her in Port Harcourt and traveled to Ghana and Lagos to buy goods. We also heard she has a sick husband at home. 💔💔 2. She is not well because her legs was swollen but she looked strong even at the park before we boarded the bus. She just wanted to come down from the bus at 6am with others this morning to go and urinate, she fall from the bus step and collapsed. Within 20mins, a lienced nurse in our bus told us that her pulse has collapsed and she is gone. Just like that, she crossed 2 countries, to and fro, just one more inter state bus, and she didn't make it home 💔. Now my question, whatever it is that she was hustling so hard for, did she achieve it? How will they tell the child that her mother left her when she was just one month and went for an international business, and never returned. she left them behind, including the goods she bought in Ghana and Lagos. First daughter is 20years old, taking care of 1month old baby 🤦‍♀️ To what end? she was just strong few minutes before then, or so it looked, walked to the step, fell and that is all. We have to seat with her body inside the bus for 8hours until we got to Owerri. And the shocking part is that everyone on the bus moved on in less than 2hours. Gisting and talking about different topics for 8hours with a de@d body inside the bus 💔💔💔😭. I am pained and hurt about her de@th, but it balls down to putting your health above every day hustle because at the end of the day if you are not healthy, your hustle will be a waste. Now this woman bought so many goods and lost her live when she was almost home. May her soul rest in peace.

🎙OLUOMO OF DERBY 🇳🇬 🇬🇧🇬🇭 🇿🇼
Let’s be honest with ourselves. It’s simply not true to say Nigerians have dominated sectors in the UK. Even in healthcare where many Nigerians work we are not the majority, let alone dominant. Spreading narratives like that only misrepresents reality. If we’re talking about real influence across sectors in the UK, Indians are far ahead and can confidently make that claim based on numbers, structure, and long-term positioning. We need to stop exaggerating our position and start facing the truth. Our population here compared to other immigrant groups is smaller, and our impact while meaningful is not dominance and beyond that, if we truly believe Nigerians are as exceptionally capable as we say, then the real question is: why aren’t we channeling that same energy into building and developing our own country? There’s nothing wrong with being proud, but pride must be grounded in truth. Let’s call a spade a spade and focus on real progress, not comforting narratives.
Slimfit@iSlimfit

One thing about Nigerians in the UK: We have quietly dominated entire sectors and industries. Finance, tech, law... You look around the room and you see us. We indeed have some of the smartest people in the world.

@escanor224 @Oluomoofderby "As of mid-2025/early 2026, approximately 71-72% of NHS staff with known ethnicity are white (including White British and other white backgrounds), with roughly 28.6% from black and minority ethnic (BME) backgrounds" With the data above, how are Nigerians dominating the NHS?

@escanor224 @Oluomoofderby Nigerians are not dominant. I work in the civil service in London, in the workforce, the Caucasians are dominant, followed by Asians, then blacks which comprises those from the Caribbeans and Africa.

@Oluomoofderby Nigerians are said to dominate because Nigerians know how to do the job well and can communicate in English very well too. Indians on the other hand while excellent in healthcare are known to struggle with English in comparison. Nigerians may struggle with accent but not language

@_Hydrochloric @TheDealEnvoy But that is the truth of some. 2 people I know who did their Msc here in the UK are now back in Nigeria after their 2 years Post Study Work visa ran out as they couldn't get sponsored jobs. They were always travelling abroad for the social media instead of building themselves.

Young migrant arrives abroad, and immediately forgo strategic planning for their careers. Instead of prioritising acquiring relevant certifications, targeted training, and professional development aligned with their chosen field, their first instinct is to embark on frivolous parties; house-parties, summer parties, or end of the year parties, and frivolous travel, jetting off to Albania, Morocco, Egypt, and Mexico, or gallivanting across Europe all for social media validation. Only when their visa is a three months from expiration does reality finally set in. In a panic, they frantically scramble to secure visa-sponsored employment. But then they lack the necessary qualifications, experience, and industry-specific training to be competitive candidates. As a result, many ultimately settle for low-paying healthcare roles in care homes or the NHS, or civil service positions within the prison system.

Good governance begins at the very foundation of society, the family. Peter Obi reflects that order: a man who has been faithfully married for over 30 years with no scandals and no estranged children. In that quiet moment, his smile says more than words; Discipline, devotion, consistency, and respect. Because how a man leads his home often mirrors how he leads a people. A man who can stay grounded at home is more likely to stay grounded in leadership.
