@BrianDBowers @wylfcen As someone studying philosophy at Uni, I would say that there are loads of modern philosophers dealing with more "practical" questions. Political philosophers and social critics are the most obvious, but there still plenty of moral philosophers out there too

@wylfcen As an amateur observing philosophy from a distance it seems to me they (like the famed fictional Numenoreans) became increasingly concerned with arcane questions opaque to the practical concerns of everyday folk. I say it peaked with Epictetus but that's just my view.

@IsaacTheThing every van/bus lifer i know saved up for 5-10 years or used hella credit cards, stayed with parents while building, sourced cheap/recycled materials & lives super frugally. money goes to gas/repairs in place of rent/bills
