Un caso de estudio: el periodismo ecuatoriano. Durante el llamado período de “dictadura” de Correa, muchos periodistas que lo criticaban tenían espacios en horarios estelares, gozaban de amplia visibilidad mediática, contaban con estabilidad laboral e incluso varios fueron afiliados por primera vez a la seguridad social. En cambio, en la actual “democracia” de Noboa, hay periodistas que han terminado en el exilio denunciando acoso y persecución. Pocos hubieran imaginado que Andersson Boscán, de La Posta, terminaría viviendo en Canadá. Está también el preocupante caso de Karol Noroña, el cierre de programas como los de Soledad Borja y Fabricio Vela, así como la compra de medios de gran peso como El Universo y Primicias, además de otros más pequeños como La Posta. A esto se suma la reciente intervención de la Superintendencia de Compañías al diario Expreso, un hecho que vuelve a encender las alarmas sobre la situación de la prensa en el país. Qué extraña aquella “dictadura”. Y qué extraña esta “democracia”.

Attacks against educational institutions endanger students and teachers and undermine the right to education. In accordance with its mandate and with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2601 (2021), UNESCO recalls the obligations of all parties to protect schools, students and education personnel.

Los hijos de la clase trabajadora del país hemos pasado estudiando por al menos 20 años para obtener nuestras ingenierías/licenciaturas y maestrías, y hasta 25 años para un doctorado y 30 años hasta el post doctorado… Y hemos caído en manos de una clase económica ociosa y vaga que lo tiene todo pero que no pudo estudiar bien las ciencias, las artes, música y matemáticas… y se atreven a dirigir un país desde sus ignorancias y caprichos! Que impotencia!

Economics is mostly a bullshit field of study. It is specifically for people who can do a little bit of stats and calc and want to feel smart but too dumb to study physics or math. Most economic theories are built like this: they start with an assumption about human behavior. Then without checking if the assumption is true, they will pile on layers of sloppy math on it and come to all sorts of conclusions that obviously don’t hold up in the real world. Recently a couple of economists won the Nobel Prize for being the first to realize that assumptions about human behavior must be tested and they went out and did some field work, and proved that a lot of assumptions in economic theories about how humans behave with money are well just not true. I was working at a bank for 2 years and saw firsthand that economics PhDs tend to be the dumbest. These people are completely alien to the idea of first principles thinking and treat axioms as if they were written in the Bible. Also they don’t really understand what an axiom is. Economics only exists because your average normie is easily impressed buy math and midwits in power are not scientific enough to realize that it is all voodoo and keep taking economists seriously. I don’t blame them though, at some point they hit an intelligence wall and the average economist brain is simply not equipped to have meta level thoughts about their own field of study. I guess this is one of those bullshit jobs like HR, therapy, astrology, project management that will just stay around for a while cause most humans are either mid or retarded.

@ladymarketok No hay que romantizar Suiza. Esta semana el metro se detuvo por un par de horas porque literalmente un auto se cruzó en las líneas del metro. Además se paga muchísimos impuestos, existen muchas reglas escritas y no escritas. Se vive bien solo si ganas lo suficiente bien.

En Suiza literalmente no hay nada roto. Si algo se rompe, lo arreglan inmediatamente. No por nada salió 7 veces seguidas mejor país del mundo.
