Grad students as consultants are so cheap and so effective. I spent $7.50 on a loaf of good focaccia this morning and traded bread for time with some peers and now I have all the answers I needed to some data processing questions.

SCRaMbLE (aka YEAST WRECKING) is NOT a good idea. I’ve tried it (back in the day) and it was WORSE than anything that happened to JEF BOEKE. I “rearranged chromosomes” w/ some buddies in lab and woke up four days later in an incubator. W/ no idea what happened. DON’T DO SCRAMBLE.
