I love seeing what people from other countries put on their USA bucket lists because it is not the stuff we think it will be. They’re not saying “Grand Canyon” or “New York City.” They’re saying Buc-ee’s, a Big Gulp, Texas BBQ, baseball, a rodeo, a drive thru, Chipotle, a gun range, and watching something completely ridiculous happen in a Walmart parking lot. And the funny part is they’re not wrong. America is so normal to us that we forget how bizarre and entertaining it probably looks from the outside. If somebody came here and asked you for the real American experience, what are you making them do first?

We need an annual event whose only job is to fill Boston with Scots. Unclear what it is. But Scotland just won, the whole city’s singing, and this can’t be a once-every-28-years thing.

日本人観光客向け DARTやTEXRailの正直な印象 基本的に平和に乗れてます ただ夕方以降に使う時、駅で電車待ったり駅へ向かう時にお金や食料をこれまでに2度程求められました 電車内というより駅周辺が場所によってはドキドキした感じです 個人的には危険までは感じませんでしたが、急に会うとびっくりするかもです 大きめの中心街の駅に多い印象です 一度OKすると大変な事になりそうなので 2回とも断りました いつもキャッシュレス決済だから持ってないって感じです 電車によっては駅員さん巡回してるし 乗る前がちょっと注意ですかね 乗ったあとは優しく気さくに声かけてくれたり、気にかけてくれる人が多い印象です こういう時のためにサッカー遠征の時はいつもユニフォーム着たりもしています⚽️ 1人旅の自分にとってユニフォームが一種のコミュニケーションツールになる感じです🙆‍♂️ 入管でも便利です！ #かもめの翔け巡り

There’s something happening inside of me that I haven’t felt in a while. Pride. There are so many things I’d like to see changed in our country but for a brief moment I’m just in awe of foreigners exploring and discovering some American gems during their visit for World Cup. These posts are a beacon of light for me. Distinctly it warms my heart to see people enjoying Texas Roadhouse or Biscuits & gravy. Or, the Japanese poet that is writing masterpieces about unlimited chips & salsa. Or, the Germans getting into Ella Langley. Even the compliments on our stadium here in LA. I can’t speak on everyone’s behalf but I welcome you all into our flawed yet beautiful country. Despite the narratives and what some folks post about on here I promise that a majority of your experiences and interactions will be met with kindness and hospitality. I hope you’ll notice our citizens trying to relate to you and understand you.
