@CaptBob_Nomadic @autothrottle It must be human error. They were distracted with engine problems from the bird strike and forgot to deploy the landing gear. All sorts of lights flashing in the cockpit meant they missed alerts from landing gear warning system, or maybe it didn’t warn them given the flaps issue?

@autothrottle Seems like we would have heard about it by now if two engines were severely damaged. Even if they were, I can’t think of a scenario that would inhibit the ability to free fall the landing gear and deploy flaps and slats.

9186 feet of runway at Muan, that should be plenty enough to stop. Will be interesting to know how far down the runway they touched down and at what speed.

@LilaGraceRose This is flatly untrue. Almost ten times as many (around 5.2 million) people died from heart disease in 2019. The same year, there were less than 0.62 million abortions. Higher numbers are also reported for cancer, stroke, diabetes, accidental injuries, and a few other causes.

Isn't it ironic? It looks like #China is the big winner of the pandemic economically. China's share of global economy is expected to grow at a faster pace. China will now overtake the US by 2028, 1yrs earlier than previously predicted, acc to Nomura.

The 2 arguments for lockdown: 1.) avoid overwhelming healthcare system 2.) slow spread until we develop a vaccine Healthcare system, even in NY, hasn’t been overwhelmed (see: Javitz Center, USNS Comfort). No vaccine, spread rapid and inevitable. Why are we still locked down?

Be warned - this is where we are going. Richard Dawkins is typical of the elitist view that only they are 'educated' enough to vote. His elitist view is what happens when you reject the foundation of our democracy - the Christian teaching that all people are created equal.

Under-age people can’t vote. Whatever our criterion for thinking them unqualified (eg insufficiently developed reasoning powers or knowledge) there must be some adults less qualified than some under-age people. Is age the only practical threshold or could others be devised?
