@rieszspieces @slothanova No, people are finally giving their due to Brunson for playing like this for four straight years. Every single champion has had a great roster. No one won the title by themselves. Brunson has had as good a playoff career as Luka, with or without the ring.
English

@slothanova people have been indexing way too hard off the fact that brunson won finals mvp and forget that the knicks as a whole were an exceptional team
English

nobody would rate brunson over any of those guys using the eye test either btw
.@KevinF3394
The timing of all this is beautiful cause Brunson winning the chip shows how overrated analytics can be. Nerds will tell you Jokic/SGA/Luka/Giannis are so much better than Brunson going off those gimmicky stats they’ve underrated the eye test.
English

@Betsycashmoney No, the purpose of analytics is the admission that you can't watch all the games, and trying to find formulas to compare players and judge their impact, because you're unable to watch. The entire analytics model is based on correlation=causation.
English

Some of y'all seem to think Analytics is a psy-op that only exists to suck the fun out of basketball & force everyone to play the same way.
False.
The purpose of analytics is TO WIN GAMES!
MJ/Kobe/Shaq/Duncan/Dirk/etc etc are all loved by analytics, because theyre elite players!
Betsey@Betsycashmoney
"The entire premise" of analytics is to win games, and ultimately, a championship. (That is why teams have Analytics Departments in the first place-- to help them win games) So analytics is very much Pro-Michael Jordan, because MJ did a LOT of winning.
English

@sportyspicce I honestly don't think it did. Alvarado did his part but Brunson, OG and KAT had all time great playoffs, you can win a championship with any bench when your three best players are playing that well. I don't think switching Brogdon for Jose would make a difference.
English

@ShiftyBostonian What kind of question is that? Why the hypotheticals as if all three have won a title as the first option? Did you just not see Brunson lead a team to a title, while neither Kyrie or Westbrook have sniffed a conference finals as first options? Of course the answer is Brunson.
English

@HuldermanDavid @ShiftyBostonian Kyrie as the first option never won a playoff series. Brunson won Finals MVP as the first option averaging 33 ppg. Crossover highlights are not the same as a championship first option.
English

@statcenter 20/30 teams are tanking every year, and the other 10 have top 10 players, and at least another star, so that's not the endorsement you think it is.
English

No one feels, down to their very core, the fictional war of analytics vs real hoopers more than retired players
Like 28/30 front offices have figured out the right answer is "both", but every guy who played in 2010 is still carrying pitchforks
David West@D_West30
Yes. The entire premise of analytic basketball is Anti-Michael Jordan....
English

@NBA_NewYork There were so many attempts where JB beat his man, got doubled teamed, passed a perfect ball and the shooter was wide open and missed. Hart's miss up 90-88 with 50 seconds left is an example. There was no one in a radius of 15 feet, and he missed.
English

@NittiDon1976 That's because he destroyed their pretty little narratives about shorter players, and after averaging 33ppg in the finals and winning the MVP, they have no arguments and have to resort to spite and hatred.
English

@FortyCal12 @Thechat101 He played on a stacked Denver team that went nowhere for two years, and conveniently went to the WCF the very next year when they replaced the inefficient chucker with a PG that can play team ball in Billups. 14 years. One conference finals appearance.
English

@JimmyStulic @Thechat101 Real quick, name the best player Iverson played with in Philly? You know this a team sport right? This ain’t fucking tennis.
English

@FortyCal12 @Thechat101 Iverson played 11 years for the Sixers, and 14 years in total, and made it past the Conference semis once. Brunson made it three times in five years. Kobe and Shaq weren't the reason Iverson retired ringless, being an inefficient chucker was.
English

@Thechat101 AI had prime Shaq & young Kobe. Derrick Rose had Miami LeBron. Brunson had a 22 yr old Wemby 😂 they not the same
English

@Hiikamaaru_ @BruceEmond @Wimbledon @bbctennis @BBCSport Yes, she's the first Macedonian player, male or female, to make it to the main draw of a Grand Slam. As a compatriot of hers who has been watching tennis for 35 years, this is surreal.
English

@BruceEmond @Wimbledon @bbctennis @BBCSport I think she's the first Macedonian player to ever play a Slam main draw in history. She's one of only four women from the country to have a Wikipedia page, and the others had garbage careers that were all stuck at the ITF level.
English

Lina Gjorcheska becomes the first Macedonian woman to qualify for Wimbledon, and her first Grand Slam main draw at the age of 31.
That's a wonderful achievement!
@Wimbledon @bbctennis @BBCSport
English

@NBA_NewYork Brunson's draft story is very similar to Tom Brady's. Incredible maturity, poise, great under pressure, leadership, all the intangibles and both fell way down in the draft because of physical attributes. Brunson has been a winner from day one.
English

Not wasting any time or energy arguing about Brunson with anyone. He has averaged nearly 30 PPG in 61 career playoff games for the Knicks. He just led the Knicks to their first chip in 53 years and outplayed the reigning 2-time MVP against a Spurs team where he had to face one of the league’s best defenders with the unanimous DPOY roaming the paint. He scored 45 of their 94 points on the road to lock up the title. What more do people want?
English

@nickflair0 @wojespn @CAA_Basketball This was true when you wrote it, and that's before Brunson led the Knicks to the ECF, and to a championship, while winning Finals MVP. Greatest free agent signing in NBA history, considering the contract, the impact on the city and the championship.
English

@wojespn @CAA_Basketball Best free agent signing in the history of NY sports. Holy underpay .
English

Free agent guard Jalen Brunson has agreed to a four-year, $104 million deal with the New York Knicks, his agents Aaron Mintz and Sam Rose of @CAA_Basketball tell ESPN. The deal includes a player option on the final season.
English

@_MattyIce89 It was, because Brunson at $55 million/4 years would have been the best contract in the league by a mile. Both are high IQ players, they would have found ways to co-exist, like Luka did with Kyrie. They made the conference finals in Brunson's final year. An all-time fumble.
English

@SidelineEli @TheGrumpyKnick @KnicksMuse And when the Knicks win the finals, she'll say that Brunson is the exception to the rule, and she was still right. Using Iverson, who single handedly took the Sixers to the finals, and even stole a game from that 2001 Lakers team, proves she's arguing in bad faith.
English

@TheGrumpyKnick @KnicksMuse Moving the goal posts lmaoo. She said be wasn’t a “dude” he wasn’t a “1A”. Shes been proven wrong and now the Knicks have to win it all for the public to say she’s wrong. Shes conveniently covered that already because she knows she’s a fucking idiot who was already wrong.
English

This just happened and I’m seeing Becky Hammon mentioned on the timeline.
Guess what? She was wrong.
End of story.
Lev Akabas@LevAkabas
The New York Knicks just played the most dominant 10-game stretch in NBA history, and it's not even remotely close
English

@Damiansport1 I wonder who and why would do something like this. Why would a hacker waste his time attacking a minor nook of the internet that occasionally struggled to pay the server bills? Certainly not for money. It has to be someone very bitter towards the community. Incredibly sad.🥺😢
