@Joshplusmore In should be partially privatized as it is now. NOAA data's data network would be hard to replace. I mean I could be considered a privatized forecaster if I did this for profit, I once did. Every private forecaster uses NOAA data to make their forecast

@SoCalweathernet I’m just curious. I really don’t know what I’m talking about but generally when things go privatized , yes, they are about money but they usually become more competitive therefore driving the product to become better. Don’t you think we would have even more accurate weather ?

If we privatized weather it'd all be about profits and not the science and the rest of the world would be drastically impacted as NOAA provides life saving forecast every where and in countries that can't afford such things. They protect ships all over the world from surf and storms. Privatized weather would leave potentially billions vulnerable.
