One question @Keir_Starmer … Are the illegal immigrants and fake asylum seekers causing havoc in our communities “conducive to the public good “ ? Yes or no ?

From what I broadly see, local politicians & the like from opposing parties are doing everything they can to try & thwart @luke11campbell This new Mayor role & all it brings is a massive opportunity for the region and one which should unite all, irrespective of differences. Their hatred of Reform UK however seems to outweigh their desire for our region to prosper. Party politics should be secondary to regional growth. And if they do want to focus on party politics - they should remember, they lost. Even “the insiders” in this article should have a word with themselves..not least - talking about a community fund which by definition is surely local grassroots stuff, yet they are trying to undermine it by critiquing it against higher, strategic aims. And of course, when you select a local as Mayor, there may be occasional overlaps….So what? Are the Mayor’s children supposed to be excluded from the community, in case they benefit? Jeez - With “insiders” like these, who needs enemies? They should all be ashamed of themselves. Is everything perfect? I’d guess not. Is it perfect in any start-up situation? No. Is there more to be done? I’d say of course! Should people be working together, as opposed to against each other, to achieve that? Yes. Our region and in particular; Hull, could be SO much more than it is. Local people, whoever they are and whatever their political affiliation, or not, really do deserve that…

The BBC invited Kemi for an interview on Laura Kuenssberg show tomorrow, and put her biggest supporter, Michael Gove, on the panel to react to her performance. Impartiality at its best from the BBC. What a joke.

Correct. And I remember well our regular meetings when you were Home Secretary, just you and I in your office. I remember asking you is number 10 backing you and remember you shaking your head with a look of despair in your eyes.I was there at a time when you were standing up to the PM and the Cabinet. You were treated appallingly, you were ignored and you were made a scapegoat. In my eyes you are the bravest female MP in Parliament, a true British hero and patriot. Ignore these pound shop politicians.
Suella Braverman@SuellaBraverman

You obviously know nothing about national security. Proscription requires collective agreement. I repeatedly urged the PM to proscribe the IRGC and he refused. As you have never been in Cabinet you obviously don’t understand that a Cabinet Minister cannot act unilaterally without PM/Cabinet approval. As a backbencher, with almost 100 Tory MPs, I continued to implore Rishi to proscribe. He and his Cabinet continued to refuse. Instead of attacking me, Tory MPs should accept that you got it wrong when you were in power. Instead you should apologise to the country for failing to keep us safe from the IRGC. And get your facts right. 👇

🚨 This is a dark day for Britain. Reform receives a large, perfectly lawful donation from a British Citizen, and Labour responds by rushing through a new law to prohibit him from making such a donation again. Rycroft even refers to British citizens as “malign actors” in his report. This is how fast the machinery of government moves when it wants to protect itself. When it comes to securing our borders? Nothing can be done for years at all apparently. This Starmer regime is authoritarian. Cancelling elections, choking off legal funding for its main rival, surveilling speech. Make no mistake, if Reform do not win the next general election, this country is toast.
