Hiya mate just think you need to check yourself here before telling me to hang my head in shame… So important to put this sensationalist article from the ECHO into context: A number of residents contacted me regarding the noise at a local school in my ward. Subsequently following my letter many residents said it was the staff causing the majority of noise. As an elected councillor it is my duty to raise concerns on behalf of my residents. Funnily enough, it was one person that complained about the letter and six other residents contacted me to thank me for keeping them updated. Here’s my letter in case anyone is actually interested in what was really said: Dear Resident, Issues at Moss Pits School I am writing to you because a number of residents have reached out to me with concerns about Moss Pits School. Primarily this is to do with the change to the Moss Pits Lane side of the school. A new play area for kids with special educational needs has been created and the school have had to put up black mesh outside of the gates. The black mesh looks unsightly, and there's a lot of noise coming from the play area. Many residents have contacted me to raise both issues. I have contacted the head teacher and have asked that the school tries to keep noise to a minimum for the benefit of local residents. I have also asked for changes to the black mesh which I will fund to support the school. First, I wanted to ask what you think. Please email or text me with what your preferences would be. Change the mesh to green Change the mesh to green and put behind the gate if possible Change the mesh and have a garden/flower wall if possible.
