A reminder that the best things really do come in small packages... Twenty years ago, Makena arrived at our Nairobi Nursery as one of the smallest elephants the Keepers had ever seen. We raised her, she went wild, and she has spent years as the most devoted nanny and protector in her ex-orphan herd – through personal losses that would have broken a lesser elephant. And then, with the best early Christmas gift we could have asked for, on 14th December 2025, she arrived at the stockades with a brand new baby girl. She came, it seemed, with one purpose: to introduce her daughter to the people who raised her. Meet baby Merri and see the impact your donations are having: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/orphans/makena

George Galloway claims Trump is on the verge of a nervous breakdown over the Iran failures, and that everyone around him knows it – Vance, the cabinet, the military. His “Remove him, you fools” post has passed a million views on X.

In 1925, a schoolteacher in southern Germany read a book by Adolf Hitler. She read it carefully. Every word. And when she closed the book, Anna Essinger understood what most people would only realize years later: this was not just political promises. It was a plan. And if it were allowed to be carried out, there would be no safe place left in Germany for her students. She remembered this—and continued teaching. Anna was born in Ulm in 1879 into a secular Jewish family. In her twenties, she went to study in Nashville, where she encountered the Quakers—their values deeply influenced her life. In 1919, she returned to Germany on a humanitarian mission, helping children after World War I. In 1926, together with her sisters, she founded a boarding school in Herrlingen—a place where freedom of thought and respect for every child were central. When major political changes came in 1933, Anna was ready. In April 1933, schools were ordered to display a state symbol in honor of the leader’s birthday. Anna arranged a three-day trip for her students. When the school stood empty, she complied with the requirement. “A symbol cannot influence people on an empty building,” she said. Then came action. She found a way to relocate the school to England—to an old building called Bunce Court in Kent. Anna spoke with the parents. She was honest: their children would be safe, but returning could not be guaranteed. Almost all agreed. On October 5, 1933, the journey began. The children left in groups. Parents said goodbye quietly, trying not to attract attention. All arrived safely. Sixty-six children were now out of danger. The school reopened the very next day. Conditions were difficult, but together they built a new life—learning, working, supporting one another. Over time, the school became a refuge for children who had lost the chance to study, and for those who arrived in Europe without families. After the events of 1938, even more children came, and Anna tried to help everyone she could. In 1940, the school had to be urgently relocated again due to the war. Anna understood that many children had stopped receiving news from their parents. She knew why—but did not want to prematurely destroy their sense of safety. After the war, children who had endured terrible hardships began arriving. At Bunce Court, they learned again what it meant to feel safe. The school closed in 1948. Over her lifetime, Anna helped more than 900 children. She did not seek recognition. But for them, she became home. She died in England in 1960. Her former students continued to gather for many years. They said it was the only place where they truly felt safe. It all began because one woman read a book—and chose to prepare.

Saruman never truly intended to serve Sauron. His “alliance” was a calculated deception a temporary submission meant to buy time while he pursued power for himself. Tolkien makes it clear that Saruman desired not to be Sauron’s lieutenant, but his replacement. Saruman’s Real Motive for Working with Sauron According to Tolkien, Saruman’s cooperation with Sauron had one purpose: to learn the methods of the Enemy, acquire the One Ring for himself, and ultimately overthrow him. Tolkien states in Unfinished Tales that Saruman had long studied the arts of Sauron, especially: Ring-lore The crafting of power-enhancing objects The manipulation and domination of others His feigned obedience to Sauron through the Orthanc Barad-dûr palantír link was an attempt to gather information while pretending to submit. But the plan backfired as Sauron gained dominance over him through the palantír, bending Saruman toward servitude though not fully enslaving his will.

Restoring Your Faith in Humanity
North Texas dads just restored faith in humanity! ❤️ Beloved crossing guard Ms. Trecia Crawford at Moss Haven Elementary had been without a car for months - relying on Lyft & buses to keep showing up for the kids she protects every day. The Moss Haven Dad’s Club heard her story, rallied together, raised $6,800 in DAYS, teamed up with a dad-owned dealership for a discounted white Jeep (plus fixes & free oil changes), and another dad covered the insurance. They surprised her on duty in early March - she was left speechless, hand over mouth in pure shock & joy! 😭🚗 Proof that community kindness wins. Everybody loves Ms. Crawford, and she deserves every bit of it. 🥹

Absolute chaos in the alliance. Sky News confirms Israel is going rogue and "lashing out" with unilateral strikes like they did on the South Pars gas facilities, completely defying the US. Trump is losing control of Netanyahu and the divergence in strategy is massive.

I’m a pharmacy tech. Chain store. We have a policy. No prescription, no medication. Period. Man came in. Late fifties. Asked for insulin. “I ran out. My prescription’s expired. Doctor’s appointment isn’t until next week.” Checked his records. Type 1 diabetic. Last fill was on time. He wasn’t scamming. “I can’t give it to you without a prescription. Policy.” He nodded. Started to leave. Knew what would happen. Diabetic emergency. Hospital. Maybe worse. Called his doctor’s office. Closed. Left a message marked urgent. Called the pharmacist over. Explained. She looked at the man. Looked at me. “We can do a three-day emergency supply. I’ll authorize it.” Gave him three days of insulin. He tried to pay. She refused. “Get your prescription filled next week. This one’s on us.” He left crying. Thank you over and over. Came back the next week. Prescription filled. Brought us flowers. “You saved my life. I would’ve ended up in the ER. Or dead. For following policy.” That pharmacist got written up. Corporate found out. Medication given without valid prescription. She didn’t care. “Write me up every time,” she told the district manager. “I’ll break policy every time to save a life.” She still works there. Still breaks policy. For people who need insulin. Inhalers. Heart medication. Three-day supplies. Emergencies. Corporate stopped writing her up. Decided it was easier to look away. Because sometimes policy kills. And sometimes breaking rules saves lives. —Andrea, pharmacy tech

Three years ago, the owner’s son, Henry, rescued a goat from a livestock auction facility. It had just been born and was dying from hypothermia. The four livestock guardian dogs took Francis in and raised him as their own ✨💖 It has truly been one of the greatest blessings to watch the dogs raise Francis and witness the deep, genuine love they have for one another.

A heart-melting moment from a sanctuary in Thailand has gone viral as a baby elephant casually walked into a café—not to cause trouble, but simply to ask for a glass of milk 🐘🥛 Eyewitnesses reported that the little one patiently placed his trunk forward, as if placing an order. After being served, he gently bowed his head, appearing to thank the staff, leaving everyone smiling ✨

Around ten o’clock last night, I noticed a dog sitting quietly on the sidewalk. He didn’t look scared—just calm and still, as if he were waiting for someone. Under the soft glow of a streetlight, his pale coat almost shimmered. He wore a sturdy blue collar, and when I stepped closer, I noticed a small tag reflecting the light. I bent down to read it, expecting the usual name and phone number. I wasn’t prepared for what it said. The tag read: “My name is **Max**. If I’m found, please bring me home. My owner has dementia and depends on me. I am her comfort. Thank you.” My chest tightened immediately. People often see a friendly dog and think playful, loyal, easygoing—and that’s true. But standing there, looking into Max’s calm, steady eyes, I saw something deeper. I saw purpose. I saw devotion. Without hesitation, I gently held his collar and walked him to the address listed on the tag, just a few blocks away. When the door opened, a woman stood there looking pale with worry. Before I could even speak, Max stepped forward like he already knew he was home. She quickly explained that her mother had accidentally left the door slightly open, and in just a few quiet minutes he had wandered outside. Then we stepped inside. An elderly woman was sitting near the hallway. The moment she saw him, everything changed. Her eyes filled with tears as she reached out with trembling hands. “My sweet boy… my sweet boy,” she whispered, pressing her face into his neck. Max closed his eyes and leaned gently into her arms—calm, patient, and completely at peace. Exactly where he belonged. Her daughter quietly explained that some days dementia takes almost everything. Names disappear. Dates fade away. Familiar rooms and even family faces can become confusing. But she never forgets him. Through the confusion, through the fog, through the broken pieces of memory—she still remembers her dog. That small engraved tag didn’t just bring a lost animal home last night. It protected a lifeline. It preserved comfort. It safeguarded a bond stronger than memory itself. And if anyone ever wonders how deep a dog’s loyalty can run, I hope they remember Max.
