Stop watching short-form videos. Meta-analysis of ~100k people shows how it is associated with decreased cognition and increased stress + anxiety. I know this is correlation, not causation but ask yourself - do you feel great after a session of consuming reels/shorts?

I need more slice of life writing pls. What is this everyone giving gyaan on every single thing or writing theses after theses. Show me your lives, boss. Tell me about your aunt's visit to your home from a decade ago. Give me the Readers' Digest style columns. Otherwise, boring.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of 'The SNAIL Network': snailnetwork.org. S.N.A.I.L stands for School of Nature, Action, Inquiry and Learning. It is a space for environment educators in India who champion place-based education at the school level. The digital repository is a database of peer-evaluated environment education resources contextual to India, available in multiple Indian languages. We have made special effort to collate interdisciplinary (Science, Social Science, Language, Arts) resources that promote a contemporary understanding of environmental issues as well as inspire care and conservation action in today’s times. The resources canvas a variety of formats: picture books, field guides, reports, stories, poems, posters, films, worksheets, activity ideas and more. Do reach out to us with comments and feedback at envedu@atree.org.

My timeline is a mix of confidently incorrect info and engagement farming tik-tok videos mixed with very obvious disinfo ads. The older Twitter era from the last decade of really good insights from humans is ~70% replaced with random regurgitated stuff

Have you thought where do kids whose parents aren’t very well educated go to, when they need to ask science questions? @LearningWala and Nidhi are solving for it while working with kids teaching them through science projects in Gujarat. They are currently on their annual Escape Velocity grant which we are going to kickstart again in 2025 🫶🏽

Will post my last 2 documentaries then stop. Last year in Jan I started making documentaries and visiting schools because I felt like my understanding of what quality education should look like was very narrow. It’s been a dream since 2020 to do this so last year I got it done. Spent an entire year, using all my paid leaves and holidays to visit and learn more about the best practices in the country. Why? Because I felt like there is a general tendency to be pessimistic about the state of education in the country. I felt like it would be best to learn from these pockets rather than only take inspiration from Finland or America which are not contextual to our country. So I made a list with schools that I believed were using a super innovative pedagogy and emailed all of them if I could document them. A few said no. But to all those who said “ yes” - thank you so so much because I owe you a year of growth. I know there are lot of people who visit schools but the reason I decided to document them was because I wanted to share them with a larger number of people who probably wouldn’t be able to visit. There’s one doc that needs to be edited + I’m going to make one last one this month after which I am going to stop. It’s served its purpose at a time when I needed this exposure. Now on to new things :)

the entire society benefits when a few mad folks obsessively explore a fringe area of culture or knowledge. if everyone pursued utilitarian goals, our world will be a boring and poorer place.
