@grok @FluentInFinance There we have it folks. Algorithms are divisive and inflammatory by nature. I don't need social media anymore, and neither do you.
English

@theoverhypedd @WBATDM @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump Not really, is your position that our support of personnel, equipment, and training is worthless and pro bono. That's not what their military is telling us.
English

@LevityMetal @WBATDM @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump Yes, but there are no combat troops. So, your point is nullified.
English

@theoverhypedd @WBATDM @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump That is correct. Laws allow for advisors and their security details.
English

@LevityMetal @WBATDM @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump There are no US combat troops in Ukraine. Only people there are potential security and advisors.
English

@WBATDM @theoverhypedd @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump Oh that's not lost on me. I was eating chow on a base in Baghdad with thousands of troops watching the news say that all troops were not there. News is propaganda, not truth.
English

@LevityMetal @theoverhypedd @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump Strange as both Trump andHegseth says there are no US troops in Ukraine..

@LevityMetal @theoverhypedd @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump Are those co workers in the army, or a private company?
English

@WBATDM @theoverhypedd @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump Interesting, I can make a phone call to coworkers who are deployed there right now. Are they actually in a Hollywood studio?
English

@theoverhypedd @LevityMetal @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump NATO memebers, minus the US are the only ones supporting Ukraine right now.
Ukraine helped the US too with drone warfare, which Trump then took credit for...
English

@theoverhypedd @WBATDM @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump A very well placed debate point. I will concede that grok and I were wrong on that one. NATO has no interests in Ukraine, spends zero time and money concerned with them, and is in fact rooting for Russia's swift victory.
English

@LevityMetal @WBATDM @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump Regardless, Ukraine is not part of NATO and would not be considered in the NATO spend.
English

@WBATDM @theoverhypedd @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump Again, the difference from wiring money to Zelensky's account and actually providing boots on the ground and equipment...
English

@LevityMetal @theoverhypedd @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump Not untrue, even Vance said last night his biggest win was stopping the funding to Ukraine....
English

@WBATDM @theoverhypedd @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump Wildly untrue. I work for a US funded company that sends billions in equipment and personnel from our company to Ukraine. We are one several.
English

@LevityMetal @theoverhypedd @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump You havent given anything to Ukraine since Trump took over either...
English

@theoverhypedd @WBATDM @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump I suppose you also wear a mask and get a COVID jab strictly for my benefit as well?
English

@LevityMetal @WBATDM @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump We don't keep the troops on bases for NATO's benefit. That is for our benefit. I have seen estimates of $500 million to $800 million, which I am sure it varies year to year. However, Trump just stole $10 billion for his Board of Peace that does nothing.
English

@WBATDM @theoverhypedd @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump 15% of NATO's administrative budget and 60% of its actual defense expenses.
English

@LevityMetal @theoverhypedd @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump The whole thing contradicts itself, says 15% then says 60% at the end.
English

@theoverhypedd @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump Yep, its not 100s of billions, and its certainly not close to a trillion.
English

@KatraApplesauce @wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump No it doesn't. We do not have troops living in Europe for our own personal defense but for theirs.

Grok@grok
US direct NATO common-fund contributions (civil, military, infrastructure): ~$800M/year (US share ~15% of NATO's €4.6-5.3B total for 2025-26). US European presence: ~80k troops + bases (mostly Germany/Italy). Incremental costs ~$10-15B/year embedded in the $980B US defense budget (not "paid to NATO"—funds US forces for US/European security). Ukraine aid: Separate bilateral effort, not NATO. ~$183B allocated since 2022 (~$60B/year avg., mix of weapons, econ/humanitarian). Disbursed ~$83B so far. These are US national choices, not alliance "dues." Total NATO defense: $1.4T (US ~60%).
English

@wurst720211 @RpsAgainstTrump That's the u.s. personal defense budget, not their contributions to NATO
Hope that clarifies it

@RpsAgainstTrump What a life. To just be able to be asked questions, and make up random shit and have everybody in front of you go with it. It has to be amazing.
English

@RpsAgainstTrump Still a billionaire too much. But, a sitting president should know one billion from "hubdreds". At best this is incompetence, at worst a flat-out lie.
English

@RpsAgainstTrump Ya know, a follow up question would be GREAT.
"Where did you get that figure, sir?"
Make him squirm. Should have always been this way with journalists.
English

@RpsAgainstTrump @Suarez1Pro1977 @grok feel free to breakdown all the money spent not just direct contributions.
English

@RpsAgainstTrump @Suarez1Pro1977 There is a difference between direct contribution to the NATO organization and then the cost of keeping troops paid and bases running in their countries, not to mention ongoing contributions to the Ukraine war.
English

Yes, in the US context: Hispanics (e.g., Mexican-Americans after 1848 annexation) endured land seizures, school segregation, labor exploitation, and barrios with conditions mirroring Five Points slums. Indigenous peoples faced forced removals (Trail of Tears), reservations, and persistent poverty/discrimination.
No race or ethnicity fully escaped such hardships across "civilized" societies—examples include Jews (European ghettos/pogroms), Roma (expulsions/persecution), or even poor White ethnics in industrial eras. In India, Dalits still face caste violence and exclusion; in China, Uyghurs/Tibetans and rural migrants endure repression and hukou barriers limiting rights. Hardships stem more from power structures than inherent group traits.
English

Sowell is awesome and always right
The Rabbit Hole@TheRabbitHole
Thomas Sowell points out that slavery was a universal evil rather than something local to any specific civilization.
English

You're welcome. Fair point on the broader intent—post-1840s, Irish and free Black communities did overlap in dire slums like NYC's Five Points, enduring shared poverty, riots, and discrimination. Chinese arrivals (mostly West Coast initially) later operated groceries in Black Southern enclaves like the Mississippi Delta. All faced exclusionary barriers echoing European ghetto dynamics, but never as a unified trio in one place or era.
English

@Rainmaker1973 I did this while dropping a Christmas ornament while on a ladder once. This head save was much more epic.
