This afternoon we’re visiting a specialist library for blind and visually impaired citizens of Astana. #WLIC2025
We’ve been shown equipment for creating braille and other alternative formats, as well a brand new prestigious collection of items from Kazakh poet Abai Qunanbaiuly.

Friday is tours day at #WLIC2025 🙌
First stop is Maqsut Narikbayev University Library.
It is housed in a building affectionately known by students as the “banana building” owing to its bright yellow exterior.
The library itself was recently refurbished and looks stunning 🤩

Dan Evans is going to win the tough man of the year award in tennis. Tonight he is taking noticeably longer between points but can you blame him? He played the longest match in US Open history a few days ago. 11 hours on the court in his first 3 matches, let's cut him some slack.

We have freedom of speech in the UK; it's written into our law in the 1998 Human Rigts Act. But rights come with responsibilities (I appreciate that's a concept you're not familiar with); there's a requirement not to incite criminality or spread hatred online. We find society works better that way.
