The event brings together teams of street-connected young people from around the world to compete in football and take part in arts and advocacy programmes.

On Friday I met with members of the Heaton Park Synagogue who are still reeling from the attacks on the Jewish community. Today, I will be in Downing Street where the Prime Minister is convening leaders from across society to coordinate a whole-society response.

The JRC and Heaton Park Synagogue were delighted to welcome Lisa Nandy, the Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport. Also present was Bury South MP Christian Wakeford. We discussed how the terrorist attack against the Synagogue has impacted our community and unequivocally conveyed the steps needed by government to reassure Jewish people in the aftermath of the terrifying incident in Golders Green. During this challenging time, we thank Lisa and Christian for being longstanding and steadfast friends of the Jewish community.
