None of it is deep. I found one strategy in the game using Ramuh and hard-stomped this game all the way to the end. The game doesn't even challenge you to experiment and engage with the mechanics. The game has no elemental weaknesses. The weapon crafting system felt tacked on and meaningless. The NPC party members are there for decoration and add nothing to the combat. The story falls off a fucking cliff once the real boss is introduced. The Eikkon battles are glorified quick-time event cutscenes with brain-dead button-mashing that overstay their welcome. What really pisses me off is the fact that this is Yoshi-P's game. The same guy who saved Final Fantasy 14, and I was all for the idea of him helming a Final Fantasy game. He will bring it back to a classic fantasy setting and interesting combat mechanics. But instead, he gives us a fucking character action game, that's right, he made an action game instead of an RPG. I wouldn't have had an issue with this if it were a spin-off Final Fantasy game, because expectations are completely different and SE typically experiments with those titles. But this is a fucking Mainline Final Fantasy game we are talking about. I was disappointed with FF13, then had to wait for FF15, only to be disappointed once again. Then, years later, we finally get the 16th entry with this bullshit. It's like SE doesn't fucking get it at all.

@J19_Gaming89 @GetFitWithJared Stop lying, part one main story has plenty of slow burning missions that could have easily been sped up. The game has moments that are beyond perfection, then has other moments that are downright awful? it makes no sense.

@GetFitWithJared You do realize side quests and such are mostly optional for both games right? And yeah playing OG FF7 would be great first but sadly not everyone is a fan of the old visuals and such. Modern gamers tend to say it hurts their eyes. People can play FF7R first if they like as well

@J19_Gaming89 @DankFizzy It’s a game that had significant impact on many people. I think they just want it faithfully retold. I don’t mind others opinions, I enjoyed the games, it’s unfortunate the changes made turned long times fans away. Can’t make everyone happy all of the time.

FF7 indeed was expensive back then, them spending 45 million dollars to make a game 3 times would be less then what it cost to make remake alone. Which is another reason why I say stick to producing one game. Idk if remake will surpass the OG in sales, maybe it will one day, But OG is also going to keep selling too in part because of the remakes.

Of course it's nowhere near close to 15M. The OG FF7 has been out for 29 years and it's available on every single platform known to mankind, including Android Smart fridges and toasters. FF7Remake has been out for 6 years. Which is exactly why I compare it to PS1/PC sales. As they had a similar shelf life. Where do you think sales will be at for Remake, 23 years from now...? Also, FF7, when it came out for the PlayStation, was one of the most expensive games EVER developed up to that point in time.... Obviously Remake costs more to develop because everything is more expensive nowadays, but back in 1997, FF7 was one of the most expensive gaming projects ever tackled by any studio/company.

I'll wait until they confirm it, either way, its no where near close to 15 mil, you would have to start counting rebirth sales for it to be close, and then your talking at least double the cost for production. So the margins are no where near as good. If you don't understand that, then this conversation is pointless.

Yes, there are no numbers to show Remake is at 9-10m.... Which is exactly why I'm referencing the 7M sales number which is CONFIRMED. x.com/finalfantasyvi… This was BEFORE Rebirth came out (which gave Remake a sales bump) and more importantly, BEFORE the Switch 2 version was released. Which was a BIG success. Also, OG has sold 15M copies LIFETIME. After 29 YEARS. FF7 Remake by itself sold nearly half of that... in 3 YEARS. Use your brain and do some basic calculations, rather than calling others "brainless idiots". You look stupid as fuck here.

@MNTeeV @J19_Gaming89 FF7 OG sold 10M copies on PS1 & PC (1998 version). FF7 Remake sold 7M copies on PS5 & PC in 3 years. Probably closer to 9M-10M now since the Switch 2 port. That's ONLY Remake. So yes, it's close. You stupid fuck.

As far as sales, it will definitely surpass the OG, and it's probably already close to it even without part 3. Remake by itself had already sold 7M copies in September 2023, before the Switch/Xbox versions even came out. As far as being a better game, it will always be subjective of course. But no one can deny that the OG was a magical experience when it came out, and it still holds up tremendously well. It's one of the best JRPGs ever made and one of the most impactful. I personally love and will continue to play and enjoy both. Both are outstanding in my opinion.

@PandaKingEX but yeah I don't think it's fair to say FF fans don't appreciate mechanical depth, I believe that's part of the reason sales are declining.

@PandaKingEX FF certainly has mechanical depth though. It's not like it has next to none and it was never the top dog in that regard. Also this has been even worse in the series as of late.

They don’t love turn based games, they just like games where you click a button and big numbers and animations appear on the screen.

Very cool and some what surprising to see Noctis rank #2. Interesting to think about as Nomura is a creative director on this game. However, the voters are objectively wrong for placing Tidus higher than Yuna on the most wanted.

@MNTeeV @NightSkyKing_ The hell is that guy and what does he have to do with Squall? All I know is, Squall's face model was based on a popular Caucasian guy at the time since FF8 is very European based. Outside of that, idk what influences it had outside of Europe.
