@BorisJohnson No you can't. Because it really isn't or war, so it's not pretending. The one we should stop pretending isn't ours, is the Ukrainian war because it really is ours, Russia is invading Europe.

@chico_ray If Mexico had invaded US and fought a brutal war for several years murdering millions of Americans. Would you be on board with sending the US military to fight Argentina in a war Europe started without consulting the US? That's the situation from a European perspective.

European leaders frustrate me to no end. So do many anti-Trump, pro Ukraine commentators—when it comes to the war in Iran. Listen, I understand the Trump hate. I share many of the frustrations, especially where Ukraine is involved. But it seems to me a lot of these people are more focused on hating Trump, than they are getting rid of a very real threat—the Islamic regime. A threat that would only grow in strength as time goes on, if nothing was done. Yes, a threat to Europe and the rest of the world. Love Trump, hate him, that makes no difference. He is still the president of the United States, with the most powerful military at his beck and call.
And right now, that military—alongside Israel—is systematically degrading this fanatical regimes capabilities.
They are doing something every President and country has been too afraid to do for 47 years. This is possibly the only chance the world has to get rid of this unhinged regime. One that butchers its own people, and sponsors terror across the globe. Instead of using this golden opportunity to rid the world of a destabilising force, and extract concessions from Trump—many European leaders would rather do nothing. They want to “deescalate”, or make side deals with the regime. Others are actively preventing the US from using airbases, and such. Some think this is the right time to “get back” at the US. It’s not. It’s so incredibly stupid and short-sighted. Getting rid of the Islamic republic helps Ukraine. It helps Europe. Getting involved militarily (even in limited ways) is a chance to show strength. Geopolitically, that’s a golden opportunity. Especially when it’s done under the umbrella of America and Israel. To the anti-Trump, pro Ukraine commentators, like I said, I understand. But when every post about the war in Iran is highly negative (because Trump!) and even leans into regime propaganda—you lose me. Your hate is blinding your mind from seeing the cold necessity of what’s taking place. We should be pushing our leaders to get involved, and get shit done, instead of having endless meetings and phone calls. The Islamic regime is not a friend to Europe. It’s not a friend to Ukraine. It’s a bad actor, that must be removed. Hate Trump, but he’s the president and he won’t be in office forever. Don’t lose sight of that. Europe is not strong enough without America yet, so pushing the idea that it is—no matter how nice it feels—is simply not reality.

@AriFleischer Nato was effectively over when Trump threatened to invade a Nato country. European nations actually prepared to defend Greenland against US and sent military weapons and equipment to do so. While there still is a threaty on paper there isn't one in reality. US is the enemy now.

When this is over, the western part of NATO will never be the same. Spain, England, France and Italy have sold us out, as they too often have a history of doing. Eastern European nations are the heart of NATO. They spend money on defense, know how to fight and love the US. France particularly deserves fault and blame. From supporting China and Russia at the UN to denying Americans overflight rights, they’re doing what they’ve always done - showing weakness, while cutting deals with terrorists. (The reason the US has a Marine Corps and Navy is unlike France, we refused to pay a ransom to the Barbary Pirates. France is always happy to cut a deal.) Wars have unintended consequences as nations show their true colors. NATO will never be the same, and Western European weakness and acquiescence is the cause.

🇩🇪BREAKING | Starting January 1, 2026, all men aged 17 to 45 must obtain permission from a Bundeswehr career center if they plan to leave Germany for more than three months — whether for studying abroad, work, or extended travel — Berliner Zeitung. This requirement is now in effect on a permanent basis and is no longer limited to periods of heightened tension or a state of defense, meaning a specific military threat. @DrTallinger Det mest skrämmande är att någon som är dum nog att gå på det kan stjäla miljontals kronor från en kommun och inte bli upptäckt på flera år. Kommunen måste haft noll kontroll på ekonomin.

@ohhanxiety Supervulcano, then astroids and comets. Supervulcanos is worst because they are inevitable and we can't do anything about them. Astroids is also bad and likely but we could possibly stop them. Comets would be harder to stop but are less likely so it's third.

@Michaelnz60 @DzisMaksym US funds their military to support their own interests. Those interest no longer align with European. A European alliance will build a much better and stronger defence of Europe.

🇪🇺🇺🇦🇺🇸 The EU is preparing backup alliances in case of a crisis in NATO, and Ukraine is there, - Politico Alternatives: 🔹 JEF is a rapid response group for northern European countries led by Britain, and Ukraine is among its partners. 🔹 Nordefco is defense cooperation between Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. "It is quite clear that NATO is already falling apart. We cannot wait for it to completely die," said one EU official.

@NewReaganCaucus Nato effectively ended when Trump threatened Greenland. If you can't thrust your ally to not invade you, there is no alliance. US then invaded Iran without informing Europe, even though the consequences would hit Europe harder. Security interests clearly don't align anymore.

@LokiJulianus Military Intervention by Europe would be a terrible decision. Europe dosen't have the capability to make a difference in a war on the other side of the world. Would make an enemy of China with all the negative consequences that come with that with absolutely no benefit for Europe
