Trell entering his "dgaf I got my title already" career arc it seems 😆 Btw I'm not mad at it either. Competing at this level is way too much on the mind and body

@leftythfc Clint Dempsey was the only American playing in England when I started following the Prem. The rest is history, heartache and glory. #COYS

this is for research purposes, why do you support Tottenham if you aren't from the area and/or don't have relatives that support the club?

@rockreax @UNI_wrestling Agreed! I steal a lot of his words and use them for our guys, but he needs to burn that hoodie/snuggie/fleece thing he was wearing in practice the other day. 😂😂

Wow. 79kg Reprechage match at #WrestleTirana was insane! Down 9-0 with 1:43 remaining and Takahashi goes on a 21-1 rampage to tech his opponent. Japan is clearly doing something right with their wrestling program right now.

I love the days leading up to the NLD. The algos do a great job of curating so many great clips of my favorite Spurs moments from the last 15 or so years. #coys

@MrPatMineo My biggest gripe is with the Greco program. Watching Jpn look great in all three comps and us just simply writing off Greco is a bit of a let down. We’ve seen that it’s possible to be competitive in all three comps…I don’t think we have an excuse for not being more competitive.

@MrPatMineo I tend to agree with you here. I think Americans have gravely underestimated the quality of the rest of the world leading up to this tournament and I think parts of the American wrestling did a good job of gassing us up (looking at you Flo).

No, wrestling in the USA is not in trouble. No, the Olympics for us wasn’t a failure. The women’s team had a historic performance and we still brought home some medals in men’s FS! Greco did what (unfortunately) Greco does. Did we fall short of some expectations? Sure, even the one’s competing will tell you that. Were there some brutal losses? Sure, even the ones competing will tell you that. It’s okay to say it was a rough tournament in SOME aspects, it’s okay to talk about the Russian boycott and be surprised at some of the outcomes without them there. We also know Russians are competing for other nations… I think based on our recent trajectory there were high expectations coming in and it’s okay to be honest about that and also still say “the Olympics are really hard and nothing is guaranteed, a lot to be proud of”… SEE YOU IN LA, 2028! 🇺🇸

@alliseeisgold I was watching the 81+ kg lifting final and I was thinking the exact same thing. There bigger, more powerful, yet equally as athletic women competing in these games. It’s puzzling that the current weight classes don’t reflect that.

Women’s wrestling needs larger weight classes. 76kg or 167.5 is considered women’s Heavyweight, and the sports biggest weight class. A study conducted in 2018 showed the average women age 20-39 is 167lbs. There are incredibly athletic women around the world that are forced out of wrestling because they outgrow or exist outside of its insanely small weight limitations.

We were super worried about Russia when it was the Japanese that we should’ve been worried about all along. They’re having an outstanding tournament at the #OlympicGames in all three wrestling competitions.
