He started by throwing a bit of a fit because he had just found out that the visa for Indians were being tightened up and he had not been in the loop. He asserted that the tightening up of restrictions could risk the FTA and that it was discriminatory given we are not doing it for other ethnicities. It could harm our international reputation. He was calling on Labour saying they could not possibly have known about this tightening because otherwise they would not be supporting the Bill. It seems NAT and ACT did pay attention to concerns and acted on them and Winston is not happy about it. He’s needed it to campaign on I guess. My feeling is he just doesn’t want any Trade wins that don’t have his name on them. It was very weird. He’s mad with everyone and his position right now appears to be no restrictions on Indian visa’s for the sake of the Bill or just no trade deal at all because he didn’t do it “please Labour work with me”. It will be interesting to see how he spins his speech today.

Indian FTA currently being debated. Winston saying that NAT and ACT are tightening immigration settings specifically for Indians and he’s asking Labour if they knew that NAT & ACT plan on discriminating against Indians. He’s arguing that this places the FTA at risk. The Hansard for his speech will be worth reading as soon as it is available. That just felt quite surreal.

If there is indeed defeat, the blame lies with everyone who supported or was too timid to speak out against a leadership cadre who had no business even being in National let alone deciding policy.
After the election, win or lose, this must be sorted.

The NZ Herald Poll of Polls show National's support falling as NZ First's support grows. Some say that's all good, but National's unpopularity is worsening to the extent that there is now a distinct possibility that it could lose the election for the perceived center right. National were warned time and time again that the Luxon/ Willis leadership combination and their fixation with globalist policies such as Net Zero, mass immigration and internet censorship would bring them undone. However their obstinate refusal to face reality continues. National are putting or have put the whole country at risk by allowing wets and/or progressives to control the direction of their party. And now its too late. Lets just hope NZ First and ACT can make up for National's losses and allow the center right to retain govt. (Unfortunately again for the perceived center right, ACT is not moving or possibly even trending downwards. Something needs to change there, and I reckon anyone with a working brain knows what the problem is.)

Thankfully we have @chrislynchmedia who bothered to investigate this story, and contacted Trade Depot MD John Christie who acknowledged the wording was incorrect.
“An advertisement was posted on SEEK for a warehouse and dispatch role at our Hamilton site stating that proficiency in Hindi or Punjabi was essential,” Christie said.
The wording was wrong, and that error is ours. Those languages should have been described as an advantage for this role, not a requirement.
Trade Depot is against discrimination in any form. We hire on people’s skills and attitude. This listing didn’t reflect that,” Christie said.
“Additional language skills can be a real asset at a branch, and that is what this role was meant to address.
We removed the advertisement as soon as we became aware of it, and we are reviewing how our job advertisements are written and approved so this does not happen again,” Christie said.
Everyone is welcome at Trade Depot.
We apologise for it, and to anyone it discouraged from applying.”
Seek should also be asked for comment - do they not ensure advertisements are legally compliant before publishing them?

Language requirement is discrimination. Treating people differently or less favourably because of these traits is unlawful.
