@Critical_Scribe thats a fair point. it can work, but its quite difficult to actually pull of in a satisfying way. Sandersons oathbreaker series has this problem a bit. jumping between characters that are in completely different sets of reality. it... can become annoying.

@NDreadbolt Personally the more POVs that are continents or countries apart the less likely I am to get invested, and it feels like that’s a large culprit in inflated word count tbh.

This is why you gotta write a long series of more reasonable length books, like 300-500 pages. The Dresden Files does this and not one complains about the length of the series.

@Critical_Scribe Eh. An issue for some, but I rarely have that issue. I only quit a book series if the author starts to get REAL pretentious in the book. For example, I was reading a book and you could tell the author HATED americans. As soon as any showed up they were racist cowards. weird.

@NDreadbolt It’s very possible, but a lot of people meander waaaaay too much when that’s the case and readers burn out fast when that happens.
