I’ve known many progressives who find it funny to laugh at conservatives’ reactions to their behaviour, even if those reactions are justified and the progressives know this. Hannah Spencer likely knows that most Muslim women don’t wear “bougie” earrings (the hijab rather gets in the way) and Muslims famously hate dogs but, by posting content like this, she might be deliberately baiting her opponents to reinforce support from her base. We’ve probably all seen this combination of virtue signalling and luxury beliefs many times before. Liberal white women usually do have some idea of Islam’s attitudes to women, dogs, etc. but they also feel like it’ll never affect them. No one would ever make them convert. So they get to show off their tolerance on social media and laugh at the “ignorant” and “intolerant” right wingers and remind their base of how they’re on the “good” side. Anyone trying to warn them is fighting a pointless battle. Liberal women don’t care about Islam’s attitude to women because they don’t think it’ll ever affect them. Islam is just a cute accessory they use to say, “look at me, I’m a kind and tolerant person.” It’s all about looking good to their peers. Men, in particular, are often baffled by this behaviour because no logical argument works. It’s all about social status.

Brilliant. Just brilliant. A Syrian, an Iranian and a Dutch teenager aged 14 to 16 pinned down a 14-year-old German girl on a sofa and gang-raped her in turns. Door locked, music blaring, video filmed and happily shared around the village. The church deacon who knew all about it kept his mouth shut, hiding behind “confidentiality” instead of calling the girl’s mother or the police. The congregation closed ranks to bury the whole thing, while the mayor simply vanished. The victim is now too terrified to step outside her own front door. The attackers? Still strolling around scot-free. This is the migrant crisis rotting Germany from the inside. Young German girls are paying the price for these imported gang-rape “traditions” – and the politicians are too spineless to even look. I despise this government – and I’ve got every right to say so.

@CRegan1964 No theres a difference btn politics/culture for a Muslim and a Christian. Religion is a form of internal self government. There's a reason Muslims always tend towards dictators but Christians can adopt democracy, human rights etc. Their internal moral codes are vastly different

@NToasts Both politics & culture are bigger influences on attitudes & behaviour & politicians & leaders are adept at using & manipulating religion. We see it historically & currently. Let’s at least ensure we critically analyse what they tell us to think

Can someone explain to me why both the Greens and Labour are courting the Muslim vote if Muslims make up only 6% of the population? Labour has abandoned the white, working class, who I'm sure account for more than 6% of the population.

@CRegan1964 The term Abrahamic religions is a modern construct. There was war, conquest, slavery everywhere. You're talking about instructions for a slave nation in difficult times Christ and the apostles moral standard exists, for Christians to correct course. Who's Islam's moral standard?

@NToasts The OT set the example for all three Abrahamic faiths. Most Christians wouldn’t describe Jesus as merely “a perfect moral figure”. The institutional Church, small-shoots & individuals have disagreed on or not followed a moral example. cultural environment is a bigger influence

@CRegan1964 So liberalism, let's get sheep and wolves live together and hope the wolves become pacifist and eat grass. Separation of church and state works with religions that dont seek dominations over others. There are now 40M Muslims in Europe, Islam has tried to take the west since 610AD

@NToasts I don’t “want” them to particularly. I just think people have a right & freedom to practice their religion as long as they aren’t harming the community. There should be separation of church & state & no religion should be favoured. Let them all show their faith by their works 🤷‍♀️

@CRegan1964 Tolerance for Islam is just allowing it to propagate and dominate. Why do you want mosques in Europe and Western countries? It's not like Muslims are going extinct, they have their own countries with their own theocracy why do you want them to expand in the west?

@NToasts The narrative of Christians as victims (just because there is more tolerance of other groups) is difficult to sustain in the face of facts. But someone will end up being victims if some insist on magnifying differences and calling for conflict

@CRegan1964 No it's not just politics in Islam, the example prophet Muhammed set was one of violence and conquering neighbouring tribes and commands his followers to do same. Unlike Christians who have a perfect moral figure in Christ. Ignoring that distinction seems deliberate with atheists

@NToasts There has been much violence between Catholics & protestants not too long ago. I’d say we’ve grown out of it but I suspect (like the anti Islam shift) it’s more about the politics

@CRegan1964 You're comparing Christians and the Church acting violently to a religion that explicitly commands violence for adherents with a reward for those who obey The quran was revealed in Muhammad's lifetime unlike the OT commands that were solely for the Jews before Christ's salvation

@NToasts I was a devout Evangelical Christian for 25 years. I have a certificate in theology & have read a lot of theology. I agree Christianity does not currently appear as violent (depends if it quotes the OT) as some sects of Islam. It’s been just as patriarchal over its 2000 yrs

@CRegan1964 You wouldn't give Christians that benefit of the doubt. Somehow a patriarchal, violent religion like Islam is misunderstood, but Christianity deserves scorn. Islam has direct instructions for murdering Kafir, conquering non believers and subjugating women, Christianity does not

I'm about 15 minutes in to @PierrePoilievre's interview with @joerogan. About 12 minutes in they start talking about MAID, where Poilievre says people "should have the choice". A few minutes later he talks about how his favourite psychologist is Viktor Frankl. Frankl actively opposed assisted-suicide, and knew that seeking to eliminate suffering often ends up eliminating the suffering person. "Every life, in every situation and to the last breath, has a meaning, retains a meaning. This is equally true of the life of a sick person, even the mentally sick. This was the first time the leader of Spain and the leader of Germany met since the latter insulted the former by not defending him in the Oval Office. Sanchez strode right up to confront 🇩🇪Merz, who apparently didn't call the 🇪🇸PM after the Oval Office incident because he 'had the wrong phone number'. The conversation looked tense, even if there were smiles initially. In the background was Irish leader Micheál Martin, who could have given Merz some lessons on how to defend your fellow Europeans to Trump. Earlier in the week on St Patricks Day he defended 🇬🇧PM Keir Starmer while in the Oval Office, after Trump again attacked the British prime minister. It's hard to imagine that Starmer would have done the same for Martin. Some of the leaders of Europe's smaller countries may have something to teach the leaders of Europe's large countries about dignity, self-respect and European solidarity.

@KateShemirani Late abortions are rare: the child is wanted, has a name and a crib waiting. Then the parents hear some dreadful news. Maybe the baby will be born without a heart or no brain, or is already dead. Making the mother a criminal is not helpful You need to mind your own business

Remove the law, and you remove the boundary. The house of frauds. A house full of eugenicists ? Ask yourself, is this murder? That is the real issue being debated. I’ve worked in these wards. Late-term procedures are not abstract, they are complex, serious, and carry real consequences. If legislation changes, the public deserves absolute clarity on what that means in practice. It means dismembering a full term baby, but if it were born naturally, that baby would survive. My first job was in a gynaecology ward. Providing suction terminations up to 12 weeks. It’s horrific. It rips the baby to pieces. Up to 24 weeks… men are born alive and left to die in the sluice and then there are later abortions and it’s gruesome . We’re talking dismembering. We’re talking puncturing the skull and suctioning out the brain tissue. Now, ask yourself again… Is this murder? Because once the line is blurred, it cannot simply be redrawn.
