China Southern Airbus A330-343 (B-1062), operating flight CZ3554 from Shanghai Hongqiao, suffered a significant bird strike shortly after takeoff. The impact tore the radome completely off. The crew declared an emergency, returned immediately, and landed safely with no reported injuries. One of the more dramatic bird strikes I’ve come across — the radome was completely gone. @CSAIRGlobal #AvGeek

Flaps Failure Twice in 4 Days on Swiss A340. A SWISS Airbus A340-300 (HB-JMA) was forced into a high-speed, high-pitch landing with flaps stuck at 0 on March 10 (LX283 from Johannesburg). Just 4 days later, the SAME aircraft experienced another flap blockage on LX189 from Shanghai: • 209 people onboard • Go-around on RWY 14 • Final landing on RWY 16 at ~169 knots SWISS confirmed the flaps could not be extended. Phuket International Airport temporarily closed its runway after an Air India Express Boeing 737 MAX 8 made a hard landing, damaging its landing gear and disrupting arriving flights. At around noon on Wednesday Air India Express flight IX938 operating on the Hyderabad–Phuket suffered an incident on the runway at Phuket International Airport. The problem was reportedly caused by a detached wheel, which is believed to have resulted from a hard landing. Airport officials, however, were able to bring the situation under control and began an inspection, while all 133 passengers were disembarked and taken to the passenger waiting area.

@BritIndianVoice Fair point. Third-generation British Indian here — my late grandfather arrived in the UK in the 1950s. Proud of that identity. But terms like Asian or South Asian are often just broader descriptors, not erasure. I think strong identities aren’t threatened by wider context.
