This message goes out to anyone who is in WhatsApp groups: As of today, AI is available on WhatsApp and therefore has access to all chats. You can enable the "advanced privacy" option. Otherwise, AIs can open group messages, see phone numbers, and even retrieve personal information from your phone... even in private chats. To prevent this: 1️⃣ Click on the bar above that says "Advanced chat privacy enabled. More information." 2️⃣ Turn the "Advanced chat privacy" option to On. Do this as soon as possible and share it with other groups you're in. Thanks to barrister @Francis_Hoar for the generic message.

More evidence from robust evaluation by my colleagues @TheIFS that SureStart had impressive long run impacts. Previous work showed it improved the long run health and educational achievement of poorer children. New work shows drop in serious youth offending.
Nick Ridpath@nridpathecon

More @TheIFS work out on Sure Start today, looking at rare and costly outcomes. We find big drops in serious youth offending (including youth custody), but less improvement in social care interactions or school behaviour. Take a look 👇

@GrimshawJeremy Congratulations, Jeremy! Hopefully you can combine purpose and pleasure and do more of things that give you deep satisfaction and less of things that do the opposite. (And come and say hello if ever you find yourself in Oxford.)

Very few people realise that the vast majority of hospice and palliative care is provided by charity - not by the NHS. I think this is a national scandal. Please RT if you do too 🙏
Hospice UK@hospiceuk

In this interview with @skynewsniall, Dr Rachel Clarke (@doctor_oxford) emphasises the need to prioritise quality end of life care. Regardless of Parliament's decision on assisted dying, fixing the funding of our struggling hospice and end of life care system is essential.

Be careful everyone, this happened in greystones. The lady's daughter was scammed out of €1000, using a QR code that she scanned to pay for parking.

These are very wise and important words from @sean9n. They deserve to be repeated and repeated and repeated till they become widely understood. And, if we want the NHS to survive, we all need to help the system respond to them constructively. Read it from beginning to end.
Sean Ninan@sean9n

Why is the NHS less productive? Why are doctors so unhappy? could we fix both these things? With warnings from @ShaunLintern and lessons from @Philippa_Perry @danariely sean9n.wordpress.com/2024/10/11/wha… @Thea_Stein @parthaskar @drohanlon @mgtmccartney @mellojonny

One of the lovely things that happened at #GES2024 was that we had a chance to acknowledge 35 extraordinary years of @GrimshawJeremy's commitment to this global movement. People stood up and gave him a standing ovation, and it was just absolutely lovely to see 🧵4/7

@RCPhysicians .@RCPhysicians if you are to properly represent your members you will articulate & promote clear views about the role and scope of practice of PAs, the clarity of the distinction between doctors and non-doctors and what regulators need to do to properly promote patient safety.

‘This King’s Fund report is important and sobering reading for all of us at the RCP. It shows how, as a leadership team, we must refocus on our core purpose – putting physicians first. ‘The report highlights an organisation that was neither listening, nor responding quickly enough, to the questions and concerns being raised by its fellows and members. It points to the need for improvements in our culture, governance, processes and the way that we represent physicians of all generations. ‘We are grateful for the support of fellows and members, and we welcome hearing your views to continue driving positive change at RCP.’ Dr @Mumtaz_Patel_1, senior censor and vice president for education and training, who is acting as RCP president.

This is a fantastic change in relatively short time and shows the motivation of all involved. Don't underestimate how much time and work has been put into achieving this fundamental change in the NHS. Well done!
