Very positive news: NC’s infant mortality rate has declined to the lowest rate in state history. Overdose-related deaths also fell 38% in 2024 – the first decline since 2019. As Attorney General, I helped secure $55 billion from drug companies for their role in sparking an addiction epidemic across the country. That’s money to reinvest in communities to help folks get the care they need while keeping drugs off the streets. These investments, along with Medicaid expansion, are a clear demonstration that the investments NC has made to keep people safe and healthy are paying off.
